3 QUESTIONS to CAPTAIN MUSTACHE:

Q: How did you get infected with Electronic Music?

A: From an early age, I was fascinated by the synthesizers of Jean-Michel Jarre, then the global Dance music. But everything really started when I heard "Phosphene" by Drax (Thomas P. Heckmann) on MTV, a night in 1994. It was a mix by Laurent Garnier with psychedelic visuals by V-Form from a VHS called "Afters". I was 13. At that specific moment, I fell in love with Techno music.

Q: Would you still play and mix some of these classics in your sets?

A: Of course. "Davina - Don't You Want It" produced by Mad Mike from Underground Resistance is probably my all-time favorite track. And I just released a song with her in my "Indigo Memories" album on John Digweed's label Bedrock, that's insane. "Jupiter Jazz" is also timeless on a dancefloor. I often play the Dexter remix of "Emerge", crazy good production. And also "ADULT. - Hand To Phone", the emotion is still intact.

Q: Which future CM projects are on the way - so: What can we expect from you next?

A: I have a lot of releases coming, a total of 14 in 2022.
- Now an EP of my album "Indigo Memories" remixed by Kiko, Zoo Brazil, Marc DePulse and speaKwave (aka dynArec)
- then a remix on Australian label Motorik
- a 12" release featuring The Advent on Les Yeux Orange, with remixes by DMX Krew and Legowelt
- a track on Marc Romboy's label Systematic
- a release with Popof on label Exploited
- a remix on Correspondant in collab with Jennifer Cardini
And in 2023, a full LP on a great big label.

HOW I MET THE BASS is a concept series, founded and hosted by @marc-depulse. 

It's not about mixing the current charts - it's about your roots. A storyteller. Music from your childhood and youth that once had a big impact on your later doings, showing musicially how you got in touch with Electronic Music back in the days.

Marc tells about his project:

"Techno is a huge family. These are my experiences when I'm coming to different cities and places every weekend. Doesn't matter who you are and where you're coming from. It's about making friends and having a good time together. I have met so many interesting artists during the last 2 decades and all of them love to tell their own exciting story. So I'm inviting my favorite artists from time to time to mix their musicial roots within a podcast."
