Almost a month later I finally got the recording of my Fusion Set <3 

Normally I record all my sets on my phone but this time it just didn't work :') I'm really grateful that Fusion recorded it  and now I can share it with you. Better late than never! :) 

Big love to 3000Grad crew for inviting me to perform on their wonderful stage again, and big love to all the dancers who joined me. It was a weekend full of inspiration, I enjoyed the festival after my set and I hope to be able to come back every year.  

There's nothing like Fusion! As usual I played lots of upcoming Marginalia and my own work in progress projects. I hope you enjoy my set. <3

This mix is dedicated to the music I grew up with. Those heavy drum lines, atmospheric and sometimes cheesy tunes. In the early 90s I came in touch with electronic music for the first time and perceived consciously. Now Jena City is celebrating 25 Years of Techno and House music in the city. That mix is for me a kind of memory lane and also a big thank you to the city and all the people who made 25 years happened.

3 QUESTIONS to SEFF:

Q) Tell us about your mix. Why did you choose to mix these tracks? 

A) I know it’s a very cliche thing to say but I actually first started listening to underground music when I was around 6 years old, I used to “borrow” my older sister’s old rave tapes and have been hooked ever since. I had my first set of turntables for my 8th birthday way back in 1994 and over the years I unfortunately lost most of my old ‘Oldskool Rave’ records from back then so had to move forward a little for this mix to a later time in the nineties when I played this stuff that we then called “Power Trance” or “Trancecore” as some may know it as. All of the tracks in this mix bring back so many good memories and mean a hell of a lot to me and I could have easily done a ten hour mix as I really enjoyed doing this so thanks so much for asking me to do it. 

Q) Winter is close, so: what were your highlights this year yet? 

A) So many but it has to all boil down to my residency for Steve Lawler’s Warriors night at Sankeys in ibiza, I only played there 4 times this year as apposed to the 11 times last season but it was still so special every time, I have so much passion for the brand and the club.

Q) Which SEFF releases are coming soon and what can we expect from you in 2017? 

A) I have a new EP that has just been released this Monday on Twisted Fusion Records called ‘Get A Hit/La Musica’ which has been getting some really big support so I’m really happy about that, I’m also returning to VIVa MUSiC this Friday with a remix which I’ve done of Apollo 84’s track called ‘Freaky Deal’ I have a couple of EP’s coming on my own Mindmaze imprint too before the year is out, a remix for Majesty on London based label ‘Abode’ and the rest is all a bit under wraps for now, just keep an eye on my socials for more info on those as there’s lots of great releases coming up that I can’t say too much about just yet.

3 QUESTIONS to MARCO RESMANN:

Q: Tell us about your mix. How did these tracks have an impact on your later doings?

A: The tracks in the mix played an important role in my career as a DJ and producer. Apart from the Kraftwerk tune, all of them are from the period between 1990 - 1997, the time when I got infected with the Techno & House virus and started to buy records and became step by step a DJ. I still love them all, they are timeless and still playable, which is amazing.

Q: Your tour schedule looks huge. Where do you find your rest?

A: Somewhere in between touring, studio work and family life. Honestly more while touring than at home with 2 little kids.

Q: Which Resmann and Upon.You projects are upcoming?

A: End of September I will release my third EP on Poker Flat Recordings. I’ve contributed a track for the 15 Years Watergate compilation, which will be out in November. I also have my third EP on Watergate Records in the pipeline, which I produced together with some great talents from South Africa at the Red Bull Studio in Cape Town. Oliver Huntemann delivered a badass Techno Remix. Release date will be probably November or December. With Upon You we're celebrating our 10 years anniversary and are planning a jubilee compilation as well. More info soon.

HOW I MET THE BASS is a concept series, founded and hosted by @marc-depulse. 

It's not about mixing the current charts - it's about your roots. A storyteller. Music from your childhood and youth that once had a big impact on your later doings, showing musicially how you got in touch with Electronic Music back in the days.

Marc tells about his project:

"Techno is a huge family. These are my experiences when I'm coming to different cities and places every weekend. Doesn't matter who you are and where you're coming from. It's about making friends and having a good time together. I have met so many interesting artists during the last 2 decades and all of them love to tell their own exciting story. So I'm inviting my favorite artists from time to time to mix their musicial roots within a podcast."
