This is the opening track from Old Soybu's only release from 2012, the Job John Rise EP. This track was remastered and remixed as part of the 2016 reissue of said release. Sink Or Swim (Live 10-29-16)

Only attempted once, this is a live medley between a cover of Unwound's song "Antifreeze" and HS' "Luna Lovegood" from 2012's Pity Won. We used to open with "Antifreeze" at shows to throw people off and then play nothing but mellow stuff until the end. This features Carlos returning to bass for the second-to-last time ever, and has Starlon (of Mister Ugly fame) on bugle for the "Luna Lovegood" section. Audio is taken and edited/mastered from a video recorded by Steve Keen of Static Hands, who we played with and invited us to the show. Much thanks!

Found this a bit ago, a version of "Emma" I thought was lost to time. I understand the changes that made the song better, but there's definitely something more immediate about this version. I quite like it.

This is a pretty embryonic version of a progression I was working on. I had my friend and fellow drummer Marc do a quick version with me. It is by all means, a totally improvised arrangement. Just uploading for fun. It may never come out finished, like so many HS songs.

03/07/19 MH Song (rehearsal recording)

In the fall and winter of 2018, my good friend Steve Keen had invited me to jam and record on a cover song with our other good friend, Marc. I was pretty down in the dumps during those times, and pretty much musically spent as always. But recording this cover with two pals and really having fun messing with the musical arrangement and style helped me out a bit. I am glad we were able to do this song back then, and now here it stands as a great memento of that time for me. Credits: Steve - Vocals, horns, piano, guitar. Marc - Drums, percussion. Steve, Marc, Bryan - Texas Never Whispers (Pavement Cover)

This was a 2018 remix I was commissioned to do for my talented electronic/ambient friend, Andrew Patrick Henry. I think he originally intended to release this as a b-side or as a bonus track for the original single "Dragoon", but never got around to it. 

Under my Squonk alias, I wanted to give the original track a sense of my esoteric nostalgia for Carson and Torrance, especially the two or three times I went there as an adult late at night on a weekday with work in the morning. I worked pretty hard to make it catchy but not overly annoying and with some sense of progress and build up. Later I would do my own remixes for the "Emma" cass-single shortly afterwards. This is something I might attempt again for HS LP2 (if it ever comes out). Anyways, this is probably the first official Squonk recording aside from the remixes I did for OG Dino/Mister Ugly in 2015(?)
