Working title: "This Is Spartan"

The first piece of whatever I've made in 6 years. I restricted myself to the sample source provided, which was inspired by a 2010 Internet meme I either missed or forgot about, two other songs somewhat chosen at random, and the same 1999 version of Cool Edit Pro I used on most of my old works and reinstalled just for this. It's kind of a cross between "Piss-Takes And Mistakes," the unfinished Global Goon remix, and "Paula Damon," all from 2002. The main idea was to dust off the cobwebs and establish a low bar for the rest of the year.

Beguile

I put this together very quickly as a "response" remix to one someone else on a message board uploaded earlier in the same evening. I didn't take it seriously, hence the title, but I do like how the end of it reminds me of a Gorillaz song from the first album.

ok, so i did what i said i was going to do. i made a tongue-in-cheek remix of "kaini industries" in support of zeus. see, i thought his remix was pretty good. he didn't just "put a beat over it", he made it his own. he kept the melody which a lot of remixes [do]. too many remixers just make new songs and add the original vocal over it. i haven't listened to any of zeus' originals, but i liked his remix. so anyway here's one i threw together using just one program (Cool Edit Pro with no add-ons) and very little effort or interest. [...]the beginning is parodying the idea that you didn't change the melody, it's just the melody with slight alterations (cut and pasted a couple parts).. the "real" remix kicks in after the weird samples. of course that remix is a parody of the idea that you didn't change it enough cos i made it this big loud thing that is just too much. honestly i just threw this together, i don't think i'm going to do anything else with it. i'm glad you liked it though! [...]i only did the remix to make a point, not cos i was in the mood to remix the song.

[...]i mean i like it but it's not something i'd keep online for over a year. i don't think it lasted much more than a couple days.
