The Space Violin 🎻🚀 Radio Show - ep. 48 DjMag Top150 Celebration

A song for looking up to the sky through softly falling snow, optimistic snow-dances, late nights watching the snow-stake camera, gear drying by the fireplace, and for floating through the trees, weightless, in a cloud of white.

Growing up as a skier, I have always kept a close eye on the weather forecast during the winter months. Any and all snowfall has always been a magical thing to me - but the holy grail of storms has always been the 'upslope' storm. Upslope storms are a rare combination of factors: the center of a storm system sitting south of the mountains, counterclockwise rotation moving cold, wet air uphill along the mountain front, and the right temperatures and timing. These storms can stall for days and are known to produce intense snowfall near and east of the Continental Divide - exactly where I grew up skiing.  

This track is celebration of snow, storms, and the sport that gets me through the dark, cold winter months - but in particular, it's an ode to the Upslope.
