About  Play The Music
"Play The Music" is the long awaited release of new music from Freddy Fresh! Meticulously crafted, Play The Music is the culmination of a three year collaboration between Freddy  and a group of incredibly talented artists from the US, UK, Canada, and Jamaica.

Freddy Fresh bends, breaks, and reshapes the rules while fusing styles and genres such as: Big Beat, Breakbeat mixed with Ragga vocals, Opera singing with Funky House, Jazzy funky breaks mixed with contemporary vocals, Drum and Bass mixed with western style guitar licks and acoustic instruments along with Rap, Soul and Hip Hop.

A blend of alternative styles reflecting Freddy's musical tastes along the path of his over 30 years of professional Djing and Producing. Vocals mixed with electronic beats, making for an eclectic and tastefully created release. Lots of electric guitars, acoustic instruments mixed with drum machines, analog synthesizers and field recordings to bring out the dynamic vocal ranges of the talented featured Vocalists.

 
With the vocal talents of: Tanto Metro & Devonte (Jamaican Reggae icons signed to Epic Records with top 40 success), Kitten and The Hip (London based established duo semi finalists on The X Factor 2014), Kate Rogers (Canadian singer well known for the successful song “Sail” on Grand Central Records), Timotha Lanae (#1 in the soul UK charts with her album Red), Matisse (Music producer and professional voice over talent, with commercial success featured in an endless list of radio and TV programs around the world) Mikey Dredd (NY Underground electronic wizard producer and rapper).. And many more artists, guitarists and co producers from the US and UK, involved in this massive project.

Howlin record was formed in 2000 to continue the Big Beat sound that was ending in the UK many UK artists continued with the Howlin label to develop that style.

 Later Breaks, Disco, Nu School, Hip Hop , Electro, Drum and Bass and House music was incorporated into the label base. 

Original format was 7" Vinyl Records and then CDs were released and in 2003 digital releases began.

 Howlin' Records include  Artists such as : Fat Boy Slim , Freddy Fresh, Telephunken, Rory Hoy, Andy "Ictus" Halstead, Mike Gates, DJ Prosper, as well as various artist from around the world.
