Rivers In the Desert is one of my favourite tracks from Persona 5 (I only fully completed P5 Royal) and have been wanting to do my own version of it for a while. I love Shoji Meguro's style yet wanted to give it a stamp of my style too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have covering and rearranging it, I just hope you can forgive my vocals...

Rivers In the Desert (Dark Drive Version with Vocals)

Since completing my Persona 5 project, I have embarked on creating my own versions of some of my favourite tunes from the classic ps1-era of Final Fantasy games (VII, VIII & IX). Final Fantasy IX is my all time favourite Final Fantasy game and although starting the game as kid way back in 2000, I didn't finish it until a couple of years ago (kept getting stuck on Tiamat...haha...). The first VG OST I ever owned physically was FF9 and I remember hearing this tune and thinking...this is creepy and amazing at the same time. It's one of my favourite final battle themes of all time and it has a place in my surreal old heart. I have tried to capture that creepy yet amazingly epic vibe. Enjoy, HJ out! I love the atmosphere of Dr. Robotnik's levels and this game delivered to an amazing standard. His machines merged with the ruins of Angel Island with the Death Egg Zone in the background was just super epic. They always have a sense of menacing presence and I have tried to (and hopefully succeeded) capture that feeling. Enjoy and watch out for Knuckles!

Years ago, I did my own version of the soundtrack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game and although I love it to pieces, it is the second game in the series that I love more fondly. I also rearranged/composed elements for my own version of the game's soundtrack last year, which turned out better than I'd hoped. 

Since then, I have been wanting to complete the trilogy as it were and do justice to Sonic 3. Sonic 3's scope was much grander than 2 so the game was split into Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles respectively. For this first half I will be uploading the tunes from Sonic 3 first. Then, under a new album cover, I will upload the tracks - that are currently in the works - from Sonic & Knuckles so watch that space. Also, the multiplayer/competition tracks will be uploaded with them too.

My approach to this project was once again that I wanted to evoke a sense of retro-gaming nostalgia mixed with some of my own electronic elements to bridge over play-loops. The overall scale and rhythms of Sonic 3 is a lot more complex and it was a challenge to get the notes and themes in place. Not to mention in the original soundtrack, there were elements from Michael Jackson's sound team under the banner of Brad Buxer. Now, under copyright laws, I cannot use the original sound effects from those tracks but I have done my best to replicate/replace them with sounds I have in my software. 

I hope they take you back to a time of childhood, a time of simpler times and cracking break-through, "got to go fast" games. Please enjoy Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

Boss Theme (Sneak Peek) - Hunt the Night Ost

Track 22 of the Visara 'Remastered' Project. The 4th blessing tune, this blessing takes place atop the Crystal Tower of Winds, which also takes the role of the royal residence to the Prince Regent of the Wind People. Atop it's lofty eyrie is fantastic crystal altar that pierces the very sky and shines in a rainbow light. The Prince Regent conducts the ceremony to the wanderer from pedestal upon the altar, the build up of light and wind escalates around the tower top. With the blessing bestowed upon the wanderer, it is then time to prove their worthiness of it. A tremendous gale picks up the wanderer and flings them high up into the sky where a platform made of cloud forms and the Prince Regent takes centre stage, he transforms into his Wyvern-form and the platform of clouds begins to race through the kingdom of clouds, turning upside down and sideways. The wanderer must endure the churning nausea of the platform and also do battle against the Prince where the wanderer must land four well placed hits. This is the hardest trial so far, the wanderer must prove his true worthiness to be deemed worthy of acquiring the wind's blessing. Enjoy and thanks for listening.
