A rerecording of my set on Saturday morning. This was a catalyzing
moment with one of the funniest and most chaotic moments I've had as a DJ. It was a truly special burn, and I feel blessed to have experienced it. Much love to you ....wherever you are <3

Last year, I began a mix series called Solstice Songs, where I wanted to showcase a lot of the beautiful organic music that I've been incorporating into my sets during the the Solstice. 
This time, I got asked by the team at Microdose VR to curate a mix for their winter Solstice Event. Even though I missed out on uploading a summer solstice mix earlier this year, it still felt like the perfect invitation to jump back on the horse and revive the Solstice Songs concept. Solstice Songs is a a mix series showcasing beautiful, organic and deep house tunes that I've been into/producing. Hope you enjoy this third installation.

Howl- Solstice Songs III

Howl is the project of Vali Nashat. He began to make a name for himself in the Denver House music scene with a sound that merged dreamy organic house with otherworldly psychedelic playa tech. After putting out 2 Records(Nest EP in 2019 and Distant in 2020) and moving numerous delirious dance to floors with his rapturous sets , he earned himself a residency with Zodiac Haus and established himself as an undeniable candidate to open for numerous All Day I Dream artists as well as other musical acts that are cherished in the Burning Man world. The connection between sound and movement inspire Howl, and the musical journeys he curates invites others to explore distant, transcendent states on the dance floor.

We are celebrating having Zodiac Hause resident Howl for an exclusive set for the 6th episode of Zodiac Hause Radio.

Zodiac Hause Radio 006 - HOWL

What few people know about my creative offerings is that I like to make alarms. This is one of the first collaborative pieces I made: an alarm made for a friend's dad (with her on vocals and another friend on hand pan).

Papa Hoop Alarm

The Black Coffee afterparty was one for the books. For this set, I had my good friend James Medina playing live drums with me in this set and loved the new layers of percussion who brought into the mix. I had some hesitations about posting this mix as there were some feedback issues from the mic'ed drums that made they're way into the recording. After giving it a re-listen, I decided to embrace the imperfections of the recording and put it out anyway! 

Grateful to all who got to come out (for my birthday) and dance all around us in what was very likely one of the best looking zodiac productions we ever put together!

My set on Saturday during week 2 of Zodiac Hause being open at their new venue. Loved the energy in the room and I'm incredibly grateful to Zodiac Hause for the platform it provided me, and I love seeing our joint intention of building a vibrant, musical community unfold in so many beautiful ways. Ambient mix for deep relaxation and introspection. 
Felt inspired to make this mix when I met a new friend and discovered
his beautiful acceptance of leaving things behind that no longer served him to become a father. I wanted to create a short journey that could ground and bring peace to a child who is newly discovering the world.
