Here is my remix of my previous thirteen cells of music.
I used one sample from each cell, paul-stretching, reversing, pitch-shifting, glitching and cutting-pasting my way into creating a longer soundscape.
Everything, every single sound, came from my Gibson electric guitar. No external samples were used.

Compositional ideas formulated on a one-day 75km hike along the coast of Japan. For more details, please visit:

Last week I attempted to blend drums and ambient guitar in a one minute track.
Several people kindly said they wished the track was longer, so this week I have tried to do that.
However, as a thank you to the people who provided feedback last week (both on lines and soundcloud), I integrated their user names into this week's drum programming.
I converted user names to morse code, then midi, and finally quantized everything to 16th beats.
The following users names were used to generate midi for the following drum parts:

KICK: Daniel Diaz / bassling / Glitcher
SNARE: krakenkraft / SonicSearch / Fake Genius
SIDESTICK: SinnySounds
SNARE PRESS: gis_sweden
LOW TOM: NoodleTwister
FLOOR TOM: RabMusicLab
HIHAT: tektik_ve_tedavi / 33per / LazenbeeIndustries
HIHAT PEDAL: kei

Various chance, velocity, and clip launch (follow action) settings were also used.
The drums are increasingly pushed into a return track containing Ableton's Convolution Reverb >> Lancaster Audio's ODR-1 distortion plugin.
The guitar layers started life last month as a live improvised piece called "the high interiors of the sea."
WavesFactory's Trackspacer was used to sidechain the drums to the guitar.

i found a recording session on my laptop that i'd completely forgotten about

fragmented and riddled with errors, i edited the track to get this

i made the track flutter like a hummingbird on four occasions with some very fast left/right panning on the master channel.

over two dozen layers of volume faded guitar manipulated using nine LFOs controlling three separate simpler devices

i'm having what must be my third or fourth midlife crisis - i started young - and have the suspicion that this time i'll end up owning a leather jacket.

i've fallen head over heels in love with iron maiden again, so this week i developed a theme from their magnificent "flight of icarus" and reworked it for upright bass, piano, strings and bowed guitar.

I used VLC Media Player to skip through a 14 minute guitar drone in C#m9. I recorded the live output with Audacity and used Acon Digital DeClick 2 to remove most of the annoying pops I could hear. I was shocked at how bad my sense of timing was, so I pummeled my final track into shape by overlaying a very repetitive drumbeat.
