This is the first episode on the Super Food Super Life Podcast. We begin our series with one of the most inspiring women in my life, Guru Jagat. She is a yoga instructor, co-founder of RA MA Yoga Institute in Venice, CA, Producer of RA MA Records and of RA-MA TV to name a few projects. She has revolutionized what it means to be an entrepreneur in the yoga world and works with her students on a regular basis to share the tools that have worked for her (which might include playing mantras during business meetings) and support their success as well. Episode 01: Guru Jagat, Founder of the RA MA Institute

Welcome to Podcast Episode #2. This guest is very special friend to me because she has always supported all of my charitable endeavors and she is one of my philanthropic heroes. Climate change is a challenging topic for many of us to grapple with. While scientists debate whether it is real or not (we talk about this in the episode), people all around the globe are experiencing radical change of weather patterns. For some it is just coincidence but to others it is all connected to our abuse of the environment. 

I believe now more than ever that I can't just sit and wait around and hope that someone else is going to speak up for nature. If I truly care about my home, my planet then I have to learn what can be done and actually do it. This podcast is my first step. I hope you enjoy our conversation and are enlightened by all of the incredible work that Cambria has done and continues to do. The bottom line is that each individual matters. Most of us who are reading this live in a country that allows you to speak your mind freely and we should not take that for granted. 

Cambria Gordon is a writer and activist. She is the co-author of the first comprehensive children’s book on global warming, The Down-to-Earth Guide to Global Warming. Gordon has spoken to adults and children all over the country about climate change and carbon footprint reduction. Prior to writing for children, Cambria was an award-winning advertising copywriter. Gordon is the co-chair of the Los Angeles Leadership Council of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and served on the board of trustees at University Synagogue in Brentwood for over seven years. She is also working with AT&T on their anti-texting and driving movement. Gordon received her degree in Communications Studies from UCLA. She is married to television writer/producer Howard Gordon and is the mother of three children, ages 21, 18 and 10.

For this week's episode I had the pleasure of interviewing the wonderful and dynamic, Katey Denno. She takes pride in knowing that her clients are not consuming products that can cause health problems. She is a trail blazer and a role model.

For this episode I had the pleasure of interviewing Erica Chidi Cohen who is a doula, a private chef and founder of The Mama Circle. With a doctor and a nurse for parents, the idea of helping others with their health came second nature to her. Erica has a warm and comforting spirit that makes her well-suited to aid and welcome new life into the world. Erica provides services that moms dream of from lactation counseling to prenatal and postpartum classes to guidance on nutrition. Now I can't imagine any mom to-be or current mama not working with her. Enjoy the show!
