[ALBUM INTRODUCTION]
Two years after the release of their remarkably long-selling "Blue Building Blocks", How to count one to ten releases nationwide their new and awaited 3rd EP "Method of slow motion" on October 8th, 2014 from their independent label kiwiport. Still following in the genre of post-rock, yet their use of odd time signatures, pop chord progression, and distortion free clean guitar sound is even more sophisticated to make new experimentations while containing their style within the category.

The songs in the album do not betray the structure of their earlier album, enabling the listener to appreciate the album as an easy listening piece, or as a complex text to be carefully unraveled.  Further notice should be made to the piece "mathematics;re" which is an fusion of rakugo and radio drama to post-rock.  Storytelling, almost like hip hop rapping, is converted into a radio drama form and constructs a fresh world view. 

The performers are Tatusya Honna, a kyogenmawashi that creates stories based only on the sense of hearing, and Kissho Tatekawa, known as a genius of the innovative Tatekawa-ryu.  The title is "Same-koshaku", established by Danshi Tatekawa and recognized as being highly musical within the large number of rakugo titles.  The rush of words ride on the grooves at 133 BPM combined with the meticulously calculated flow of math rock makes it an addictive number.  

[PROFILE]
There's no vocals to our music.  Neither is there a lead part.  It's not an exaggeration to say that there's no starring role to our music.  Each musical part plays a supporting role to create a melody that is the single theme.  Each part is made from the interpretation of the composition,  which means that deep thought is put into the point,  strength, and timing of the picking.  It is holding your breath as if to dive 2000 meters into the deep sea and gradually changing everything into pressure, namely, concentration.  The deeper you dive, the more obvious the displacement of the rhythm becomes, making you able to feel the ultra-delicate nuance between the notes.  Then, the sense of time is stretched out to make a second feel infinitely long.  Even the "gap" of a fraction of a second of a composition at 180 BPM feels long and bears importance.   We feel it is one of the important points of our music, to embody the "gap" that appears.  It is the spirit of feeling and sensing within this limited community of five, in other words, our music is about capturing the "gap".  If all five members can keep diving at the same depth, the result would be outstanding music, but it has yet to be realized.  This is, however, what we aim for.

異例のロングセラーとなった前作、2ndEP『Blue Building Blocks』から丁度 2 年、 How to count one to ten 待望の新作、3rdEP『Method of slow motion』を 2014 年 10 月 8 日に自主レーベル kiwiport から全国発売。 今作もあくまで postrock という既成ジャンルを踏襲し、彼らの得意とする変拍子、 ポップなコード進行、歪まないクリーンギターは更に洗練され、忠実にそのカテゴリー に収めつつも新たな試みを実践している。収録されている楽曲は前作を裏切らない構成 になっており、イージーリスニングとしても、複雑なテキストとして紐解くにしてもど ちらでも聞き込めるアルバムになっている。さらに注目すべきは postrock に落語とラ ジオドラマを融合させた一曲 "mathematics;re"。まるで HIPHOP のラップのような講 釈をまくしたてる演目をラジオドラマ仕立てに変換、新しい世界観を構築している。 演じるのは、聴覚にだけ焦点をあて物語をつくりあげる興幻師、本名竜也と、天才と呼び声が高い革新派立川流立川吉笑。 演目は故・立川談志が確立し得意とした、数ある噺の中での最も音楽的要素の高い『鮫講釈』。言葉を BPM133 のグルーヴに乗せ畳み掛け るような講釈と綿密に構築された流れる様なマスロックは癖になる一曲。 今作品は日本人なら一度は聴くべきと断言できる名盤だ。

[プロフィール]
僕らの音楽は歌がない。さらにはリードパートもない。主役がいない音楽といっても過言ではない。 各パートが脇役をこなし、ひとつの主題となるメロディを作り出す。各パートそれぞれが楽曲の解釈、すなわちピッキングのポイント、 強弱、タイミングを深く考察し、2000 メートルの深海に潜るように息を止め、集中という名の圧力に変えてゆく。潜れば潜る程、リズム のズレは明確になり、超繊細な音符間のニュアンスが体感できるようになってくる。すると時間の感覚がぐっと引き延ばされ、1 秒が限り なく遅く感じてくる。BPM180 の曲でも 0.1 秒の『間』がとても長く感じ、また重要性を帯びてくる。そこに生ずる『間』を体現するの が僕らの音楽の大切な 1 つの要素だと思っている。それは 5 人という限られたコミュニティにおいての察する精神、つまり、『間』を捉え る音楽であり、5 人が同じ深度で潜り続ければそれは素晴らしい音楽になるが、まだ実現はできていない。 しかし、目指しているのはそこである。
