025 - No other mix CD out has made me want to wake up to it as much as this one. Think slowly rising from a dream/hangover with the best sound possible and that's about it. Both discs on Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure open with absolutely gorgeous tracks, Gus Gus's 'Believe' being an example of this. Furry Phreak's 'Soothe (Chicane Jazz)' dives deeper into the sound before the cd moves on to intelligent breaks, early trance and climaxes in what must be one of the most beautiful electronic tracks ever made... Hybrid's Symphony. This isn't just music you would wake up too, it's so good, you'd probably happily die to it as well. Another CD which raises the bar and takes it's own thrown on the Classic Mix CD series, and a fine choice for our quarter century episode. Turn it up... and enjoy the mix.

025 - Northern Exposure II - Sasha and John Dignweed - Disc 1(1998)

A mixtape with an hour's worth of <100bpm slow edits, designed for a laconic Sunday drive to the ocean. Put the top down on the Karmann Ghia and drive west on Sunset to the sea. Once you hit Highway 1, keep driving north towards Malibu. Breathe in the country air to the East and the Pacific Ocean to the West; and succumb to the sunshine that surrounds you. Life in the slow lane will surely make you regain your mind; the past never sounded so present.

With unforgettable artwork and a sound that has gone onto secure its classic status. And although I didn't buy this first release... I had a subconscious feeling it was something very special indeed.
