Everything I Wanna Be

"Don Lee" was written in the winter of 2018. My wife and I moved into a house that ended up providing us with one of the most unique living situations we've ever been apart of. While being totally out of place, we were accepted with open arms. This song came from some of those experiences.

I wrote this song after finishing the book, "The Tattooist of Auschwitz," by Heather Morris. This was the first book I've read about the holocaust outside of what I learned in school ages ago and it absolutely fascinated (and horrified) me. With that on my mind, I began writing this song with the words loosely based on the holocaust and told from the perspective of a person urging a loved one to keep fighting. Lyrics below:
