What would happen if Boards of Canada made a glitch album using iPads and free running modular patches? This, probably. A focus on soundtrack-era aesthetics and interesting tangents, rather than an all-out assault on the brain.

Think of it as 15 tracks on a worldwide journey through faceless airports, industry and rurality, ending up at sunrise on a private beach. Lots and lots of atmosphere, intense and aurally challenging at times [but never tear-your-head-off-glitch], melody and atonality. 

Glitch and IDM albums tend to be atonal, hard-to-listen affairs. I hope this comes in at the more aesthetic end of the spectrum! Note that the first two tracks (up to about 8 minutes) are also the two least tonal!

a single 200e patch recorded in a single pass then chopped up and layered in logic.  headphones would be a good idea. . . :-) 

Buchla Color Meditation

Showcasing the Synth Tech E350 Wavetable oscillator - the sole sound source for this project. No filtering/EQ, compression/limiting or LPGs. Some delay & reverb is applied.

Demo of the Serge Extended Variable Q Filter module by Random*Source (version 2015 under license from Serge - using THAT2180 gain cells) - actually, this is not a proper demo, rather a sequence of patches and abuses... VCFQ fed by one or two waveforms and some control voltages - no more than 5 patch cords involved.

Serge Variable Q Filter (VCFQ) Demo

The Serge VCFS is a legendary Serge filter that offers unique dynamic control of amount of filtering, from barely perceptible to highly resonant. 
Here are some sound samples of the Random*Source version of the filter, a licensed and authorized adaption of the VCFS for Eurorack. It is an improved design that uses 2 high-end THAT2180 VCAs and features an added Q knob, which allows to increase the resonance for an even wider sonic range.

All audio from the Eurorack modular, save a tape-delay from the Timeline. No reverb, believe it or not. All basically self-generated with a Buchla 208 random CV source at the core. I'm working knobs and faders, nothing more.
