Another year, and another birthday has come for Steyoyoke. This year marks our 5th Anniversary, and as such we would like to present our 5th Anniversary compilation, filled with unique remixes and new faces on the Steyoyoke map.

2017 sees the Anniversary 05 released both digital and physical, for this occasion split exclusively into a double vinyl abounding of groove-laden standouts. This year’s bangers are provided by some of the most talented producers out there: Slow Hearts, Hraach, MUUI, Fat Sushi, Arjuna Schiks, Jacob Groening, and Tom Peters.

The combination of these artists comes from the love of expression and harmony; those artists that felt could create an additional plain of assimilation that would induce a sense of oneness amongst the differences which exist between our listeners.

For release number 186 on Ready Mix we welcome talented Hungarian artist Robert R. Hardy, also known as D.M.P., proudly unveiling his brand new ethnic/downtempo alias, rBert.

Commencing rBert's debut release is 'Vagabundos', a languid and deep mid-tempo electronic cut that simply shimmers with oriental mystery. 

Shadowy Swedish duo Elfenberg lift the tempo into moody progressive house territory, retaining a strong flavor of the Orient, while adding pulsing synths and potent percussion into the mix.

Second original track 'Sinere' sees rBert lay down a compelling deep house groove, over which ethereal vocals gently entwine with flutes and subtle plucked strings in a heavenly chorus. 

Greek producer VieL offers up a sublime reworking of 'Sinere', concocting a warm and comforting atmosphere with his airy and effortless arrangement.

Unable to get enough of rBert's sounds, Elfenberg return to remix 'Sinere', cleverly juxtaposing those sweet vocals and strings with brooding synths and insistent, snappy drums.

A natural for stirring melodies, Berlin-based @samshure channels his all-around manifold array of talents into his new EP, „Mirage“, taken from his forthcoming debut album „Laconia“ on @stilvortalent. Shure says: „“Mirage“ is a collaboration with my father who plays the Oud lines in it. I had the main groove of the track ready in my Berlin studio and felt like it needed some acoustic element. „Kamala Bani“ was the first collaboration with amazing producer Cioz. We had the most fun working together in the studio and really enjoyed making the track. The track „Encanto“ is for sure a nighttime track with a mystical atmosphere. After the success of ʻShadowsʼ and a string of recognised remixes, the anonymous dj and producer Soul Button is ready to ʻPlay Againʼ with another tantalising release. This second helping of masterfully produced music comes with the same endearing heart that beats so strong within the work of Soul Button and with the purest and most surprising vocals that have become synonymous with the work of this talented artist. The EP features 3 alluring tracks each with their own unique and well crafted sound to help captivate feelings of uncertainty as we brace for the winter months to come.

The EP kicks off with the title track ʻPlay Againʼ a powerful opener to any set. Filled with grit and laced with sex appeal, the track is a reminder of Soul Buttonʼs dark and yet playful style. Strong vocals stamp attitude into this venomous foot stomper. A devilish blend of percussion is tamed by a strong piano sample but still driven by an enduring bassline.

Taking a lighter foot in the next step is the pure and lucid sound of ʻThe Keepersʼ. The unique vocals are a complement to the reflective nature of this swirling track and bring character to the emotional build up of the narrative. A flourishing synth reminiscent of late 90ʼs house music, is the backbone of this well crafted piece and elevates you to a state of muse.

Closing the chapter on the EP is the haunting sounds of ʻCome To Meʼ, a deep and progressive track that hypnotises. This downtempo trip is a gripping tale of faith and fidelity in all things real. It is brought to life by rich enigmatic vocals and carried by a pulsing African rhythm that leaves you wanting more.

ʻPlay Againʼ EP will see a vinyl release in December and a digital release will follow including a dub version of ʻPlay Againʼ.
