Booka Shade are Berlin-based duo Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, and have emerged as one of the most pioneering electronic music acts of the past two decades. Booka Shade return with their new album ‘Eve’ released through Armada Music December 13th, preceded by first single ‘Love Inc’, released on December 9th.

For their fifth studio album Booka Shade wanted to tell a new story, a story which represented a new beginning for them after they had almost split up during the first half of the production. In order to create something exciting they needed to be somewhere exciting and in search of inspiration headed to the UK home of electronic music, Manchester, to record at the acclaimed Eve studios, a residential vintage recording studio. This is where they found themselves together again, where the music came to life and why the album is named after the studio.

The 12 track album includes special guests Fritz Helder (Azari & III), Fritz Kalkbrenner, and Groove Armada’s Andy Cato on trombone. Artwork was conceived and designed by La Boca to provide a rich and vivid visual accompaniment to ‘Eve’.

Booka Shade singles have historically been both underground sensations and club hits (such as ‘Mandarine Girl’ and ‘Body Language’) and new single ‘Love Inc’ looks set to follow in those footsteps. ‘Love Inc’ is infused with pure club sound, paying a contemporary homage to Chicago’s former king of house, Lil Louis, whose 1992 hit ‘Club Lonely’ serves as the track’s sample. Friend and art director Thomas Hayo was brought on board to direct the song’s music video in the vein of their last collaboration on “Sweet Lies”. Details to be announced.

Magician On Duty proudly presents Losers Arcade, the mesmerizing new EP from NUVEM (@nuvemduo), a live electronic duo whose evocative blend of darkness and beauty has been quietly reshaping the contours of the underground scene.

Formed in 2022 by Maya Gonçalves (FR/PT) and Dario Esposito (IT), NUVEM has been traversing Europe’s creative hubs—France, Italy, and Germany—collecting fragments of emotion, rhythm, and texture to craft a sound that moves fluidly between dancefloor melancholy and dark indie dance. Their music merges somber synths, pulsing basslines, and ethereal vocals, weaving intimate narratives that feel both cinematic and visceral.

Their latest offering, Losers Arcade, unfolds like a nocturnal odyssey through shadow and light. The title track welcomes listeners into a dark, hypnotic atmosphere—a dimly lit club where haunting vocals echo among writhing silhouettes, carried by monumental synths and a magnetic sense of tension.

The journey continues with 13, a ritualistic, dark disco invocation. Driven by wild percussions and a spellbinding groove, the track conjures an almost supernatural energy—whispers of witchcraft layered atop a hypnotic bassline, inviting the listener to surrender to its mysterious rhythm.

With Losers Arcade, NUVEM confirms their place among the most compelling new voices in live electronic music—a duo unafraid to merge emotion with edge, and melody with mysticism.

Following his Hedonism debut ‘Why Don’t You Say’ and his releases on Coyu’s Barcelona based label Suara Music, mysterious DJ/Producer Simion returns to his own label with his brand-new offering ‘The Groove’ - out 11th December 2015. 

Complete with stellar remixes from Kevin Knapp and Florian Kruse, ‘The Groove’ is all about its hypnotic vibe, spiced up with an irresistible vocal line. DJ and vocalist Kevin Knapp is well known through his releases on labels like Hot Creations & DFTD. Florian Kruse settled in the German capital Berlin and is no stranger to the city's infamous underground clubs, e.g. Watergate, Ritter Butzke amongst others. As one half of renowned producer duo Kruse & Nuernberg upcoming productions are scheduled for release on Noir Music and Exploited Records.

Kicking off with Simion’s original mix, ‘The Groove’ is a pure tech house bomb, bursting with a funky tech bassline and a soothing vocal that builds to the edgy breakdown. Kevin Knapp’s remix is taking the track into darker territories, presenting his typical signature sound, whilst Florian Kruse is delivering an outstanding deep hypnotic treatment.

Marking a triumphant return to his label after “Lost (in Deep)” on Suara Music has been championed by Solomun in his last Boiler room set.

PREMIERE: Darin Epsilon - Our Last Days (Original Mix) [Parquet]

It’s been four long years since Steve Bug’s sublime deep house imprint blessed us with Classics Volume 01 – but when it comes Dessous Recordings – it’s worth the wait. Always ahead of the curve, the German label started as an outlet for the tastemaker and uber producer / DJ Steve Bug’s deeper urges – releasing a seemingly endless supply of fresh, smart sounds from some of house’s most renowned artists. No wonder this retrospective comes across as a celebration of a job well done – within its 20 tracks are some of the mostly finely constructed, emotional and downright dancefloor destroying grooves of this or any decade.  Nestled into its prized running order are indeed many classics, whether they be of the new, old or obscure type.  

Familiar faces make a welcome return – check out the contributions by long time collaborators Phonique, Solomun, Ryo Murakami, Vincenzo, Tanzmann and Stefanik – all dropping the genre defining slices of rich, hedonistic, elegant house music that have made their names in Europe and across the globe. As if proof was required that Dessous hasn’t rested on its laurels, several tracks from the last couple of years feature prominently – witness Moodymanc’s motor-funk detonations, Andrade’s twisted disco and Burnski’s deep pressure vibes.
