This work consists by three elements: two video pieces and a sound recording. First video piece shows the street view filmed from my window, looks simply like late night scene but in fact a combination of multiple clips from different time of the night being edited together. The other video piece shows the red flashing traffic light projected through my window on my wall and is actually a one-minute video loop. The sound piece is recorded from late night till nearly dawn and is the only part in this work that is played by real time. 

Three elements form a seemingly reasonable late-night scene, without abnormality. However, the truth is the three elements are absolutely not presenting the same “night”. One is showing compressed and reorganised time, one is showing a constantly repeated segment of time, and one is showing unprocessed time. This work is a challenge to our senses and brain, also a question to our perception towards reality. Because in Taichung, the night remains the same darkness until just before the dawn and can only tell by subtle human activities. Makes me wonder how to build our sense of time if we are in a completely dark night like this without depending on the artificial traces.
