This was one of the most fun tracks to make. We used a lot of sampling, which is something new that we haven’t experimented with much before. The track has a very jazzy feel, so we felt as though we could be a bit more relaxed and free-form when composing and recording, which exposed us to new ways of song and lyric writing.

I met Jack just after moving to NYC to pursue music after graduating college. We've become really close friends and have grown and learned a lot together. He's like a brother to me. When he sent me this song I freaked out, the songwriting, the production, everything was so magical. I immediately asked to remix it because I knew I would make something very special that took Viiq's amazing voice and melodies and encapsulated my time in NYC, and all the emotions I've felt over these crazy 2 years. 
I've been sitting on this one for a while and I'm just releasing it out into the world and gonna let it do it's thing. It would mean a lot if you reposted, liked, commented, tweeted, insta, whatever, any form of support would mean the world to us.

I'm so happy with how this record came out and couldn't be more excited to share this with you guys today 🙏🏻

I wrote the instrumental for this a few months back and as soon as the @flybymidnight guys sent me their first vocals for it I knew we had something really special.  This track does something that I personally love to hear in pop music...it blends a feel good, almost euphoric vibe at points with a story about something that's real and a little f*cked up, creating this tension that never lets the song go too happy or too sad, just kind of letting it live somewhere in between, which is life.  The @flybymidnight guys are super super talented and the vocal melodies and harmonies on this track are so dope - be sure to follow them cause everything they do is 🔥

I love that we called this track Swimming With Sharks too, because who does that?  

Also massive thank you to Amy Birnbaum at Round Hill Music for connecting me & the Fly By guys, this record wouldn't have happened without her help.  Huge thank you to @mikeserman as well, as usual he absolutely killed the guitars on this record.

I hope you guys love this track as much as I loved writing it, and if anyone's got a connect at Discovery, holler @ me, because this really needs to be the theme song for Shark Week in 2019.
