rafting is experimental electronic music created by Dallin Stevenson. Confusing, and sometimes challenging, the songs and sounds are created from manipulating real experiences that have affected life like overwhelming, internalized maximalism.

sprawl to sun

3 instrumentals featuring sounds recorded in the pyrenees mountains, specifically in the town of aulus les bains and surrounding wilderness. I began these tracks during an artist residency focused on deep listening, mixed sonic environments. These songs are an exploration of that, and guided by a gesture to mindfully consider the continuum of sound, the organic nature of time, subtlety, mystery, atmosphere, momentum. 

The titles are from journals kept in english/french as i practiced at a level that toddlers could out-speak. 

Recorded in Aulus Les Bains, France with additional mixing, and arrangement in Ridgewood, Queens and Columbus, OH.
