Live at Buddhadasa Indapannyo Archive, Bangkok. I play twice a month for this group of avid and experienced meditators.

Yes it's long, drony, and very similar to other cuts in this series. But it seems to be working in this context. My meditators seem to go deep and remain motionless for several minutes after the music finishes. In this situation, that's about equivalent to wild applause

Sōta-Sati: Mindfulness with Sound #11 June 20, 2011

This is  live performance on July 4 2011 with a meditation group at the Buddhadasa Archive in Bangkok, Thailand. 

I'm not conversant with the proper 'grammar' of Carnatic ragas. I just used the scale as basis for melodic and harmonic exploration. The scale is 1 2 b3 #4 5 6 b7. You can also think of it as Dorian mode with a sharp 4 (Lydian Dorian?) or as the 4th degree mode of a harmonic minor scale. Enjoy

This an improvisation I made with a recording of the Australian Lyre Bird. The kybd and vocal parts are based on the South Indian (Carnatic) raga MayaMalavaGowla.

Sota-Sati April 5 2013 with Nakarin Teerapenun

I create music for contemplation and meditation using voice, keyboards, laptop and iPad running various applications. 

My focus is live performance. I collaborate with other music and visual artists as much as possible, both locally and around the world through SoundCloud, NinJam, and other musical and video networks. 

I lead a public 'sonic meditation' session at sundown on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at the Buddhassa Indapanyo Archives (BIA, sometimes called 'SuanMokh Bangkok'), a wonderful new Buddhist center in Bangkok . It's walking distance from the mass transit stops at Mor Chit (BTS Skytrain) and Chatuchak Park (MRTsubway). I am actively seeking collaborators for these shows.
