Avery, Keenan, and I (Hughie) packed up a car in miraculous fashion and ventured out for the first day of our incredibly creative road trip on July 10th. Our first stop: Tempe Arizona with Arizona Cardinals footballer Robert Nkemdiche. From Los Angeles to Tempe, we ran into a tragic fundraiser, dirty bathrooms, and a vast variety of answers to the question: What Is America? 

After a great night of making music with Rob a.k.a The Legend Merlynn, and a highly competitive bowling match between sessions, we said our goodbyes and continued our journey to the Grand Canyon.

What Is America? Podcast [1]

After leaving our good friend Rob in Tempe, we embarked on our journey to see the world-renowned Grand Canyon. We met families traveling from all different states, we spoke to staff members for the National Parks, and we took time to ingest the views of beautiful rock. 

The euphoric feeling from the Grand Canyon carried us to our next stop at Elephant's feet where we met and spoke with Navajo Native Americans. The stop was productive and educational, and it gave us much needed perspective in our quest to unravel the answer to: What Is America?

We ended this glorious day in Rico, CO where we laid our heads in full relaxation.
