Produced, arranged and mixed by Apanemic on an Akai MPC 2000XL.
Analog mixing by Kostas Fotiou and Apanemic.

All samples came from 13 different old vinyl records...
The track was mixed on a Soundcraft 200B vintage analog console and draftly premastered on an Akai 4000DS Reel To Reel Deck.

The jazzy-cinematic theme is present throughout the whole project, each artist adding his very unique atmosphere. From the jazzy and acoustic vibe of Savages to Kognitif’s abstract beats as well as the powerful snares of Al’Tarba and the typical jazz breaks of Hugo Kant, you will recognize the influence of many genres. Dusty samples and heavy breaks are common elements on the production method used by these talented artists from the downtempo/abstract trip-hop scene. A project with a very symbolic meaning to our label.

Erased Tapes label mates Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm record and mix their first collaborative record between Reyjkjavík and Berlin as a surprise release for label founder Robert Raths.

The ambient/electronic work ‘Stare’ is a true family effort from Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm with Anne Müller joining in on cello and all graphics by close label-friend and now in-house designer Torsten Posselt of Feld Studios.

Return: Monomyth part 3

We come to the final chapter of the hero’s journey. We must all return, and when we return what have we learned from our quest? The road of trials has been hard but maybe the toughest task is coming to terms with life after defeating the dragon. What is the new purpose when all goals seem to have been achieved?  

Frenic finishes the epic Monomyth trilogy with “Return”  and takes you on a journey of lo-fi trip-hop beats with deep electronica & sample manipulation.   

 “I started this trilogy as a way of thanks for the amazing journeys I have taken while on tour. In particular, Greece.  I would like to thank Joseph Campbell for the inspiration and his amazing philosophy. I learned a lot researching these albums and these ideas will stay with me forever. I highly recommend you read his book, “A Hero with a Thousand faces” or watch his interview on the program, “The Power of Myth.” (Frenic)
