Musically, Hugo Daniel's new single ‘Thing For Me’ seems like a whisper from the past where influences are gathered left and right, and would most closely be compared to a modern mix of rap and grunge. The main character in ‘Thing For Me’ is a girl with a series of challenging habits and a destructive behavior pattern. Despite these traits, her decadent lifestyle creates a captivating and entertaining aura that makes her interesting.

Thing For Me

The prominent artist Hugo Daniel have gone beyond genre limitations to create a whole new musical world. Hugo Daniel grew up in a suburb of Kalmar Sweden, where crime and disturbance were common. Despite the negative stigma that the area carried with it, Hugo emphasizes that he personally was not directly harmed by his surroundings. His own struggles were on the inside, a whirlwind of dark thoughts and emotions that dragged him down into depression. In the end, however, he has so far always managed to find his way again. Hugo reflects that if it weren't for the strong family he has, he too might have ended up on a destructive path. Music entered Hugo's life at a young age. At the age of six he started playing the drums and in his teens he learned not only to sing but also to create music. It was around the age of 14-15 that Hugo began to give life to his own musical creations, and since then that trajectory has been his companion. Together with his producer Ole Söderberg, Hugo Daniel aim to break new ground in the alternative music world combining multiple of it's genres creating a hard hitting but also mellow sound. Hugo explains his thoughts on this matter below:

"If I where to enter the studio knowing I'd only be allowed to make one type of music I'd probably become miserable. In music you can't limit yourself. You've got to go with the flow and how you're feeling in that exact moment to make the music become genuine and real!" - Hugo Daniel.
