Adam Beyer has produced an incredibly strong EP. The first track on the EP, Eye Contact, uses rhythmic vocal stabs to give it an infectious rhythm and groove. The second track, Raspberry Cave, uses a melodic synth-line and pad to create a dark, absorbing roller. On the digital release, another further two tracks have been added. Salvage Dub uses a funky bass line and rhythmic chords to full effect to gain the club’s attention. Cosa Mira, rounds of the EP by using percussion to construct an energetic rhythm with the help of some dreamy stabs to create a moody characteristic.

A great philosopher (Samuel Johnson, not Ebeneezer Goode) once wrote… “our brightest blazes of gladness are commonly kindled by unexpected sparks”. While it would be a stretch to suggest the Drumcode artist roster are closet philosophy fans, once one begins to unravel the tale that led to Jel Ford remixing the 2012 Alan Fitzpatrick hit ‘For An Endless Night’ and it is impossible to escape the unexpected enterprise and spirit of surprise that are at the heart of this exciting collaboration. 

As fans of Adam Beyer’s label will testify, the two Drumcode names have more in common than just a label stable, they also share common ground with the peak-time melodic sound that has delivered many of the labels most memorable output. Ford being a much more recent addition than Fitzpatrick, whose history with the seminal Swedish imprint stretches back to 2009, however Ford’s history within techno goes back even further having released multiple EP’s through the early noughties on vintage UK techno labels including Dave Angel’s Rotation Records, Billy Nasty’s Tortured Records, Primate Recordings and Ford’s own Jericho imprint. 

It is within this shared passion for uplifting synths and big room melodies that the ‘unexpected spark’ of creativity that led to Ford remixing Fitzpatrick can be found. An long-time admirer of Fitzpatrick’s work, Ford had developed an idea for his alternative version and secretly worked on the remix long before any discussion of the project had taken place. Once given the draft version, Fitzpatrick immediately endorsed the remix, excited to have an updated version to breath new life into what had become a familiar staple of his sets for the past two years. Parts were swapped and the end result being the barnstorming end-of-night monster presented here. A track that will be familiar with many having been the subject of much social-media furor since it first surfaced back in Autumn 2014.

It’s a rare moment in the life of Robert Hood’s M-Plant label when he hands over to another producer, but no surprise that he should pick Mark Broom for the next release, seeing as he’s previously been entrusted to provide edits of Hood’s tracks for the label’s 20th Anniversary celebrations (MPM19) and is currently tearing up dancefloors with his unreleased dubplate mix of Floorplan’s ‘Never Grow Old’.

The original version of ‘Stunned’ was released on Mark Broom & Dave Hill’s renowned Pure Plastic label back in 1997. The “97 Mix” featured here started as a live mix of the track, which Mark has now tweaked for maximum dancefloor devastation.

It’s accompanied on the flip side by a brand new composition of equally outstanding quality. Broom is in fine form on ‘Decay’ with his tight production skills delivering the kind of tough, raw Techno that sits perfectly on M-Plant.

Spanish native, turned Berliner, LISS C. (@LISSC) continues to make great progress with his label LCR and it’s sublabel projects LC SERIES and the new LCR Wax as found here.

Slash is set at an impatient pace, whilst being dipped in a hypnotic potion that screams dancefloor destroyer. Looping an tool based, it barely let’s off steam, although for a demonic whining that crescendo’s towards the middle. Uptempo and driving, it was the stand out from an awesome all round package here.

The various artist release titled Move 00:00 features an eclectic round up of tracks that includes Radial (@JeroenLiebregts) from Netherlands, Swiss @IsolatedLines and @JoyB from Spain.

Subjected joins forces with fellow Berliner and one to watch Andrejko, producing the launch EP on the new label project to be known as Subjected Systems out this month.

The Vault Series label head and roster artist embark on the new journey together with cuts ranging from abstract soundscapes to tough modular, dancefloor focused delights.

The track we selected for this DT:Premiere is the remix of “WEGA” uses an obscure melody that’s full of awkward tweaks and bleeps, but delivers an eerie tension. The stripped back beat also has some deep and electrifying layers on show, with some sick texture effects on cymbals and hats for an awesome spaced out vibe.

E-Missions co-founder P.Leone returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids this September with ‘The My Lita Project’ backed with remixes from Mark Broom and Spencer Parker. 

Originally hailing from New York, P.Leone now resides in Berlin where he helms his E-Missions imprint with releases from himself and co-founder Caiazzo, exciting new artists like Rush Plus and Tred, not to mention remixes from Young Male, Spencer Parker and Lawrence Lee. Leone has also dropped a variety of releases on Rekids and Work Them Records, when not making regular appearances at clubs like Tresor and ://about blank. He now returns to Radio Slave’s respected imprint with ‘The My Lita Project’, following up his highly lauded ‘El Dorado’ EP that garnered support from Ben Sims, Jackmaster and Spencer Parker. 

‘My Lita’ kicks things off with classic synths, piercing strings and choppy vocals slices whilst robust drums march forward. Meanwhile, ‘Tight In The Pocket’ is more dark and menacing in comparison with its syncopated percussion, echoing claps and ethereal atmospherics. 

On the flip, Mark Broom drops two different remixes of ‘My Lita’; the first is a robust cut complete with disco elements like funky guitar licks and soulful voice, with the original’s stabs shining throughout, whilst the second remix takes a different route with its crunchy snares, moaning murmurs and fuzzy effects. Spencer Parker rounds things off with a remix of his own, chopping up the original’s vox whilst sultry pads join thumping kicks and quivering melodies.
