The concept for Schacke’s, Apocalyptic Decadence was thought out during the dark days of the first lockdown in 2020, it is essentially about the desire for hedonism and excess being amplified when faced with apocalyptic omens and the annihilation of the familiar.

When faced with destruction, the psyche approaches a duality, it can either swallow the pill of bitter realism or withdraw and escape into the imaginal, constructing a world of hedonism and pleasure, the paradox of the latter, which the album explores, is that this approach only accelerates the process of impending doom and the delusion that through the pursuit of eschatological pleasure, the world might be orgasmically reborn.

Apocalyptic Decadence sees Schacke exploring the full spectrum of his musical discography, taking inspiration from the industrial, dark and rough sounds from his early days, combining it with the hyper-sensuality of his later works. The sound is twisted, psychological, sex-fixated and intoxicating.

The album can be considered the 3rd part in his “Pleasuredome Series”, following his prior two releases on Instruments Of Discipline: ‘Welcome To The Pleasuredome’ & ‘Artificial Intercourse’.

HAVEN is proud to invite Berlin-based Canadian artist Ryan James Ford for his second appearance on the label, this time with a full 5-track EP of dark tripped out dance floor weaponry following from their track on the second Sardonic Tonality compilation as well as his huge album on Clone in 2021 and an EP on Mama Told Ya earlier this year.

The A1 launches with ‘Lost In The L.E.S.’ with its threatening synth rising and falling alongside quick vocal chops and rolling drum rhythms providing the perfect start to this collection showcasing the murkier side of Ryan’s production. The A2 continues on this tip with ‘Ekstase’ - where distorted percussions and a cheeky scream sample bounce off the sombre synthesiser programming in another slab of quirky 4-4 experimentation. The A3 closes the first side with ‘Undertow (S02E05)’, a certified club banger making fine use of distorted kicks, bouncy rhythmic work and dub-style synth stabs in another unique brain twister.

On the flip the B1 keeps things rolling with ‘The Promise Of Money’ - another peculiar workout full of experimental textures, dusky synth melodies and charging drums to keep feet moving. The B2 closes the record with ‘Parllyster (92 Mix)’, which takes a brighter turn with its euphoric melody and gravely bass alongside punchy broken rhythms that quickly turn in to pounding four-to-the-floor in this club-heavy offering from the Canadian producer.

My name is Robin Gorgis but I go by the alias Avion in the UG music scene. I had no thoughts at all behind this mix, just picked a bunch of random tracks from a bunch of different folders and made a soup out of it… No, but jokes aside. In fact, I’m trying to be very analytical to my  approach when I curate a mix or gig. I decided to do a longer one for you guys, something that you can enjoy on your way to work or as you’re dealing with everyday tasks at home to make time pass by. 
 
I just checked, and this is the longest mix on Huldra so far!

I would say that my style is heavily influenced by the danish and parisian style/scene. I am very drawn to the anatomy of life and existentialism - within the journey of our time, we get to experience a bunch of different emotions ranging from joy to sentimentality.
