FC PLAYERS PAST & PRESENT RELEASE CHARITY CUP SONGS!

Hull FC have teamed up with former player Sammy Lloyd to release a double track Wembley record ahead of the Challenge Cup Final this week! 

Building on the success of recent music releases by the club, the Black and Whites have revealed another two songs in the build up to the big day.

Former cup hero Sammy Lloyd, part of the squad who lifted the trophy in 1982, has worked with the club and local band Hillbilly Troupe to produce his very own ode to Hull FC, called 'Come on you 'ull!'

Self-composed by the 64-year-old, who has played the ukulele at club events in the past, the song also features vocals from fans.

More current players play their part in the build-up to the final too, with a Wembley remake of last year's popular players version of the club's famous anthem, 'Old Faithful.'

The updated version has been released as a bonus track alongside 'Come on you 'ull!', thanks to our friends at Hull College who worked on the original record.

Both songs can be heard below and will be available to download from iTunes within 24 hours, for just 99p.

Alternatively, visit www.hullfclive.tv where you will also be able to make a donation at the end.

Monies raised from both tracks will be donated to the Steve Prescott Foundation, Dove House Hospice, Macmillan's Hospice and the Hull FC Community Foundation.

Speaking to hullfc.com, Lloyd said: "Nothing beats the excitement of winning a semi-final to get to Wembley and watching the team win against Wigan recently prompted the song.

"I was sat playing with a few chords in my head watching the match, and it just all fell into place. We had the song written in thirty-five minutes!

"We've worked with the Hillbilly Troupe to get a version recorded and even invited fans down to join in and the response from everyone has been fantastic.

"I'm blown away with the final song and the opportunity to work with the club to publish it alongside our famous anthem, 'Old Faithful'.

He added, "I’d like to thank everyone for making this happen and also wish all the playing staff and everyone connected with our great club the very best of luck at Wembley."

Hull FC's Marketing & Communications Director, James Clark, also commented: "The build up to the Challenge Cup Final excites everyone and this was a great way to get everyone in the Wembley spirit.

"We had thousands of downloads of our first version of our players singing Old Faithful last year and we expect this will be no different.
"To have the chance to work with one of our former cup heroes on a special Wembley song is unique and something we've all enjoyed.

"Both songs are an emotive tribute to the club, the players and the fans and the perfect soundtrack from cup final week and hopefully will raise plenty of money for some great causes too."
