lavender, fake gold, salt is an ambient sound piece addressing the spaces, rituals, and sounds that surround my relationship with self-care and healing. Thinking about my connection to sound on an embodied, intimate level, I consider the sonic accumulation that exists in the everyday spaces I inhabit. Traditional Middle Eastern instruments are distorted and stretched, collapsing into drones, synths, and the sounds of jewelry being rustled around. How do we wear the spaces we pass through like adornments?
