Collector - September '73

The next Fasaan Rec. installment comes from Stockholm based DJ and sound artist Moonilena - longtime musical friend and since 2022 collaborator with the label, releasing her marvelous track ”Onio” on the label’s ’Enter The Decagon’ compilation. This mix is aptly titled ’Spökets sommar’ - which translates as ’The ghosts's summer' - encapsulating the style and timbre of Moonilena’s music and DJ sets. To be enjoyed in eternity!

Edition Festival director John Chantler talks to Mats Lindström and Mats Erlandsson of EMS about Knut Wiggen, Pär Lindgren and Roberta Settels. EMS presents one work by each composer during the Seventh Edition Festival for Other Music this February.
 
For this iteration of the festival (22—25 february 2024), French musique concréte institution INA GRM travel to Stockholm with their Acousmonium — a unique speaker orchestra that they have had under constant development since the 1970s — for an afternoon seminar and three concert evenings at Eric Ericsonhallen. bas bleu is a DJ, producer, and occasional composer and sound designer currently studying electro-acoustic composition and working at Fylkingen. They are also a member of the label~community @luuur.se and a monthly resident at @retreatradio with their live-hybrid show ‘mëld,’ in collaboration with Kräm.

They are currently immersed in creating eerie, swampy, and textural soundscapes, blending a love for both harshness and softness, rituals, and sensory effects in their mixes and productions. Collaborating with others is something they enjoy, having recently done remixes for @rip_____me and @eye_measure

Afterlife and Tale Of Us are proud to announce ‘Realm Of Consciousness’, a 10-piece compilation
expanding the Afterlife totality into a label. The label and events will complement each other with one
aim; to bring the crowd into another dimension of music perception with enthralling production to that
ignite the senses.
The ‘Realm Of Consciousness’ voyage commences with Tale Of Us’ Lies - a fitting introduction with
quivering keys and restrained percussion that engenders an ominous suspense ahead of Monoloc’s
enigmatic industrial techno crunch, Phoenix. Shifting through the haunting chords of Recondite’s dynamic
Murphy’s Law, to the brooding synth of Poseidon by Ukrainian duo Woo York, the realisation of Afterlife
utopia is upon us. The repetitive, mesmerising synth and effective reverb that Somne creates with Triangle
is an odyssey within itself. From there, John Hester’s expertly woven ‘Logan’ is a feverish techno stab that
transverses through the emotional senses, transitioning to Locked Groove’s adroitly crafted Emeralds, to
Ryan James Ford’s ambient, albeit percussive, techno cut Toree Bahrstad. Die Wiederkehr is the outcome
of Obscure Shape & SHDW’s collaboration, which incorporates facets of techno and trance that have
been shaped with real guile and finesse. Mind Against round off the compilation with Gravity - a
mystifying ambience and a fitting title as we touch back down to planet earth.
