Young Lithuanian producer Marriage Proposal drops his ‘Clapa Coma EP’ for Hum + Buzz. 6 stripped back club tracks at house tempo.

Starting with ‘Marble Space’, the track launches with industrial hits and misplaced claps steadied together with a 4x4 kick, oscillating rim shots and chugging bass.

Title track ‘Clapa Coma’ delves into pulsating rhythms, manic decompression and distorted vocal snips. The EP then takes a breather from the club space with the cinematic and reflective ‘Lost In 1986’ (Beatless mix). This track shows the producer is adept at the melodic, as well as the percussive.

‘Vua Vua’ knocks away with chanted sampled vocals before descending into the mystic via sub bass. ‘Savage’ combines clap tricks with riveting one shots and warping basslines. Finally, the infectious ‘Rikitiki’ ends the EP, shuffling and bouncing with a menacing undertone.

Hungarian producer Zoltan releases his ‘Pardon, What? EP’ for Hum + Buzz. 

‘Aprah’ kicks off proceedings, menacing bass rumbles cling and clang against relentless claps and a howling synth refrain. No kick drums are required.      

The next track is ‘Consignments’, in which a panned synth riff makes way for a barrage of sub bass hits and a Grime inflected drum pattern. ‘Raptors’ is up next, a twisted Techno stomp of a tune. Continuing in this vein, ‘Saturn’ revels in noisy bubbles and scrapes – a devastating warehouse track. 

The confrontational EP title track follows, with flanged percussion flanked by plaintive chord changes, deep subs and isolating reverb. 

Rounding the EP off is ‘Phobos’. Basketball kicks and rattlesnake percussion underpin a metallic, Transformer-like top line.

Fresh from his EP on Sinden's Grizzly label, New York based Brenmar showcases 3 melancholy club tracks on his Hum + Buzz release, along with a special MikeQ remix. 'Let's Pretend' kicks off proceedings with tantalising vocals coupled with effortless lead synths and rolling bass and drums, an R'n'B via UK Funky track strictly aimed at the dancefloor. Taking you on a 'bumpy ride' but utilising the same vibe, 'Temperature Rising' combines yearning vocals, bouncy, fluctuating rhythms and undulating arpeggios. It's like a melancholy booty track, with the same intentions of making you pop and sweat.
'Done (Don't Luv Me No More)' pushes the tempo up, but also stays relevant to Brenmar's R'n'B influences, the result is a luscious display of glassy synth pads, pensive vocals and twitching anxious, unstable drum rhythms. Finally, the MikeQ remix strips the original right back, switching between soca-esque snares and cowbells to half-step claps, creating a deadly accomplice. A fitting encore to this wistful dancefloor

Ikonika returns with the 'I Make Lists EP', the first full extended release since her 2010 debut album 'Contact, Love, Want, Have' (Hyperdub). Hum + Buzz present 6 incendiary club ready tracks, her most accomplished and anticipated work to date. 

Taking a dark approach with 'I Make Lists' and 'Cold Soaking', these dubplate anthems have been the highlight of recent Ikonika sets. They both fuse paranoid, intense and ominous basslines with sinister and eerie lead synths. 

'Take Pictures' melds a languid drum machine strut with reflective but focused melodies. The playful side of Ikonika is present in the Latino Freestyle influenced track 'Catch Vibes' and 'With Your Mouth', a stripped backed procession. These two tracks employ driving drums, acidic basslines and mischievous melodies. 

Bringing us to the finale is the majestic 'PR812'. Referencing the hijacking of a passenger flight in 2000, Ikonika crafts an emotive dance floor anthem with centre stage given to her original approach to melody and arrangement.
