This song is an updated version of the first song I ever posted onto SoundCloud (https://soundcloud.com/humanslug/instant-heaven-demo posted in 2016!). I'm gunna be honest, I do not like the original, lol. To me, it sounds a bit like a Puzzle knock off artist. (More) Truth be told, I've wanted to delete it off this site for quite some time. But, through many in depth discussions with my sibling about every artists early work and the natural change/progress one goes through over time just through continued practice, I realized that by keeping the original up I'm acknowledging and respecting the effort of my humble beginnings. Also for others to be able to observe that growth in an artist. Also also, for some reason, a lot of people actually like that crappy original. The fact that people even continue to listen to that version and seem to prefer it Over the new one is kinda wild. 
I love the updated version. I'm proud of it. I'm no longer straining my voice to be something it's not and the overall mix sounds Way better. 
Whichever version is your favorite, it just makes me glad to know you're listening.

This song frustrated me to almost no end. It started as the slowest and most uninteresting tune. The synths, drums and vocal melodies I used, initially, were too corny to me. I thought I'd never be able to turn this song into anything even half decent. I tried so many different sounds and bpm, but nothing spoke to me. The song was a goner as far as I was concerned. Then one day, in the summer of 2021, this particular tune seemed to beckon me back into its grasp. A call from the ether said "finish me. you have the ideas you need now." 
I heeded the call.

This song has gone through many rewrites. What started as just a sample of the clang of a partially full metal dog water bowl, then became the diddy before you today. It was, honestly,  an uninspiring song for me. I had no idea how to finish it. So the song remained incomplete for two years, until all the vocals, drums, adding extra sounds and final re workings were done in the span of 3 days (June 1st-3rd 2022). The vocals are super rough, the mix may be all over the place, but I thought,"fuck it. I need to let go of this one, once and for all."
I actually like the final product, and I hope you do too. :)

What started as a sad song about waiting for the day I could finally transition, has now become a personal anthem for my new-found patience; an optimistic take on how I navigate through dysphoria. the original song and lyrics were written/composed in 2016 and was then re-worked over time. From day one I believed this song had potential.

It all began with being inspired/amused by an image I found online of a cymbal with the words "full time motherfucker" written on it. "Fun title for a song," I thought. At first I intended it to be a silly song. What started as just Silly lyrics for a silly song then became a song that illuminates some unfortunate and harsh truths. Though, much like many harsh truths I've discovered in my life, these set me free.

On July 9th 2017, I wrote this song (almost exactly five years ago to the day). Much like Full-Time Motherfucker (https://soundcloud.com/humanslug/full-time-motherfucker), my intent was to write silly lyrics to match a silly title. After it was all written and composed I thought it was too silly. Too corny. So, like many of the tunes in this collection, I became uninspired to finish it. Then, in the summer of 2022, I re-worked the whole thing. Added an extra synth, more drums/percussion, changed the key, wrote a completely different chorus and recorded all the new vocals in one day. Here's the final result. Thanks for listening.

The only changes made to the song were additional back-up vocals, some changes to the drums, some more synth bits and an over-all reworking of the mix.
