Greyscale and the Mood Series has a special collaboration to present to the masses. Two highly skilled, talented and familiar names combine for one great EP. Detroit Side label owner, dj and fantastic producer, Giacomo Pellegrino joins forces with long time Greyscale friend and confidant, Francisco Aguado. Their goal is to take deep techno further into the space. Five extremely flighty and tech cruisers that soar above the dancefloor for the most optimal euphoric rides through the stratosphere. 'Skyline' runs fast with those descriptions. A confident and daring track, the anticipation that it sets edges on extreme. 'The Sky In The Room' is an early setter that builds a vast atmosphere outside the addictive groove. The title track 'The Sky' is sick. Adding a bit of electro and funk to the rhythm. That one will go over great on any dancefloor, day or night. The 'Dub Vision Mix' is a perfect complimentary version of the original depending on the type of set while the 'The Sky In The Room 001' is a more traditional dub techno exploration of the theme. Whichever version you land in chances are you will have this on repeat quite a bit. Mood Series hasn't had many collaborations in the past. This one really has us stroking our chin on the possibilities these two set the bar high for. Mood Series #83 is sure to set your ears on fire!

For our latest Bleep Mix instalment, Sandwell District come through with a hefty programming of dark rollers fulfilling that promise of reinvigorated purpose they mentioned before: “Having a good time”. And with a wealth of exclusive unheard material it’s hard to refute the mission statement. Dropping straight into the cavernous environs of an unreleased Regis side Frosty Jack’s, the selection rides a restrained line building tension through a number of Nastia Reigel tracks deployed with utmost precision before upping its stride with Luke Slater’s Planetary Assault Systems and quickly landing first peak from The Wizard himself, with Jeff Mills' slamming ‘93 cut Step to Enchantment (Stringent). Taking in a track from their comrade Surgeon’s forthcoming album, as well as the simmering acid of their own tune Hidden, Sandwell District bring it back round full circle via two further unreleased reworks of heroes Meat Beat Manifesto providing a breakbeat singed rupture to close out the proceedings with the vocal snatches of MBM’s Helter Skelter summing it all up really: “It's in my brain now. This is it!”

Sweeping you into a dream like state of mind is ‘Call of the North’ mysterious whirs linger throughout the track with a tight steady kick to keep you on the ground, a fitting opening track of the split LP. ‘A Degree of Disorder’ is a killer ambient dub track, clinical hi hats and mesmerizing synths, a pleasant listen of the highest order. Taking you deeper is ‘Lone Wolf’ a wholesome experience from start to finish, space like connotations and emotive keys carry the record in to darker atmospheres.

The Swiss, British and Australian multinational has been exploring machine-made music since the late 1990s, recreating in his own way off the classic sounds emanating out of Detroit, Chicago and London on an old MC-303 and Juno 106 synthesiser. His sounds continue today to be influenced by the House, Acid, Techno, Electro and Breakbeat music genres prominent in the US and UK scenes. Through the merging of the gritty with the soulful via both old analog and new digital tools, his music always delivers a raw but emotive touch.

His studio is fitted out with a small collection of classic Roland units, helping him keep true to the authentic sound he loves of the 303s, 909s and 808s. Evident in his own releases for others and on his own imprint Hummingbird, which has gained him regular support from a growing list of industry DJs such as Laurent Garnier, DJ Rolando, Vince Watson, Danny Tenaglia, Roy Davis Jr., DJ Sprinkles, DJ Bone, Ian Pooley, Fred P, nd_Baumecker, DVS1, Colin Dale, Gerd, Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Tintonton Duvante, Trevor Rockcliffe, Truncate, Terry Frances, Quarion, Takaaki Itoh, Vincent Neumann as well as being featured on NTS.

As a DJ both resident or touring his journey has taken him around the World to perform and play feature at venues such as La Ruche, Club der Visionäre, Sunday Breakfast Zurich, Griessmuehle, Brown Alley, Freedom Mills, MOS New Delhi and FUMP Thailand. He's supported acts such as Eric Powell, Brothers’ Vibe, Pier Bucci, Simon Coyle, Il Bosco, John Heckle, Hot Since 82, Stimming, Noir, Live & Roby, Shonky, Placid, Camea, Matthew Styles and Tobi Neumann.
