Gone

I used to walk in the woods behind my house. It was relaxing to me. But no more, because now, after what happened, just thinking of it frightens me. It all happened on an ordinary day, along the usual path. I was surprised to see a cave among the trees; I hadn't noticed it before. I moved closer, curious about it. From within I heard some mechanical, monotonous sounds. I was confused. I tried to go inside but as soon as an illogical sight came into view I stopped dead. Thousands of robots, arranged in an endless spiral downward, worked endlessly, as in a colossal assembly line. I run away screaming and shortly after I found myself in the ground, along the path. I don't know what happened that afternoon, maybe it was an hallucination… Or maybe human beings, because of their pride, think that they know everything, ignoring that unimaginable things happen all the time before their eyes. Things that they'd better never know.
