We're already thinking ahead to sunrises in The Fields this year. Imagining the connections. Feeling the vibrations. 

But before we look ahead, let's take a moment to reflect.

Danilo Plessow aka MCDE brought groove to Solar Village last year. His signature genre-blending and analog warmth carried us through deep rhythms and unexpected turns—a soulful sunrise still replaying in our heads.

There’s a moment at the very beginning of Frolojaz where the track seems unsure whether to reveal itself or remain in reflection. The rhythm stutters gently, as if sound were testing its own balance – not yet settled into groove, but circling it with curiosity.
Organic percussion – tactile, earthy, full of breath and hand – opens the space with a kind of living pulse. A soft yet weighted kick joins, not in insistence but in calm invitation. It doesn’t impose. It suggests.
Then come the strings – quartal, echo-drenched, gently disintegrating across vast imagined halls. They hover, not so much leading the track as dissolving into it. There is no urgency here. Just atmosphere, tone, and time – stretched.
Gradually, without fanfare, the structure coalesces. The four-on-the-floor returns, unobtrusive and patient. A vocal sample loops into earshot – filtered, cycling, shimmering. There’s a sense of French house here, but blurred at the edges. Less homage, more daydream. Labels like Kompakt, All Day I Dream, Sol Selectas or Do Not Sit On The Furniture might come to mind – aesthetics that favor tone over tempo, and repetition as revelation.
Then the tension shifts. A bassline sneaks in – playful, thick, warm. The groove fattens. Just before the break, the drums recede, as if stepping aside. The vocal remains, now fully exposed, soft-spoken yet commanding. A snare build begins – understated, but full of intention.
And when it returns, the track opens wide.
The second movement feels sunlit. Chords rise – smooth, cool, summery. The bass grows bolder, but never brash. This is house music, clearly – but refracted through warmth, ease, and texture. It's not about climax. It's about continuation. A horizon stretched out in rhythm.
Frolojaz doesn’t chase energy – it reveals it slowly. There’s a subtle lineage here, to labels like Lump Records, or Innervisions – imprints that understand dance music as architecture, as emotion in form. But Frolojaz keeps its own posture: steady, self-contained, and quietly generous.
It doesn’t demand to be heard. It waits – and for those who do, it rewards in depth, not volume.
