Kim Rapatti a.k.a Mono Junk presents the second volume of Finnish Electro All-Star on his DUM Records imprint – active since 1992.
The new release is the latest chapter of Mono Junk collaborating with friends, recently with Mesak and Freestyle Man.
The A-Side of Finnish Electro All-Star (DUM-040) features collaborations with top Finnish electro duo Morphology, who recently released an outstanding album on Firescope label. Electro Por Favor is a pulsating driving electro track with a killer bassline and vocals by Rapatti – Electro at its best. Raw, apocalyptic, solitary remix by Mono Junk follows the original.
The B-Side features collaborations between Mono Junk and a very special guest: Goner a.k.a. Martin Maischen, who is known from many hot releases as the other half of German electro act Sandbenders. They were at most active around the millennium and made releases for Force Inc. Music Works and Science City. The two included tracks are deep electroid techno excursions made last year in Berlin. Vinyl release date is 24 th of September.

We're super excited to be bringing you this weeks show, from Valencian Producer and DJ, Pépe!

With a love for crystalline melodies, gentle pads, and complex drum programming, Pépe has elegantly been traversing the realms of house, electro, and breakbeat for the last two years. Armed with a sound that is inherently sincere, moody, and emotive, he has fostered a strong reputation from fans and press alike, including being awarded 2018’s "Spanish Producer of the Year" in DJ Mag.

Pépe has proven himself as a sought after producer with an impressive host of releases including original EPs on Church, Renascence, Lobster Theremin and Or:La's Deep Sea Frequency. His tracks can be heard in the sets of many of the scenes top DJ's, as well as being included in both DJ Seinfeld and Deetron's DJ-Kicks mixes.

In his Bside he guides us through his own musical backstory, laden with shimmering synths and detailed rhythms. Pop and ambient sounds turn into house and breaks, with tales of early morning sets and the spanish sun transporting you to the beach of your mind☀️

Recording a mix is one thing, but producing a custom mix intro and alternating the music in the mix with sound fragments from nostalgic films is another. This all is nothing more than usual for Rotterdam-local, sound combinator Taylan Alan. Over an hour filled with the sweetest sounds from South America and Turkey, all connected by the warmest conversations. A mix to listen with popcorn!

As the cracks in the wall open up in Melbourne and we get the jumper cables out to reboot, Yi Lum opens us up to the  otherside with Fair Shake 008. She flies the flag for each of us, peeling us from our devices to guide us on how to engage again. Venturing out after endless months in these four walls she peeks through the keyhole, takes a step or two outside, checks the coast is clear then breaks out at pace to burn up the bitumen. This is a tough mix, built from steel, but the tough get going and there’s hope for the future.
