Kill Your Darlings

Fading Silence is my first official album, released under the name Paulo Oliveira with the independent label PO&ElectronicBox.
It is an intimate work, where every track reflects deep emotions and moments from my life.

This album is especially dedicated to my late wife, Ana Cristina, my greatest inspiration and life companion. Every sound carries her memory, my love, and the silence that remains.

With influences from Progressive Metal, Atmospheric Rock, and experimental music, Fading Silence takes you on a journey through melody, heaviness, and atmosphere.

Veiled of Shadows

Streetlights hum, my jaw set tight;
I name the cracks out there and feel that line in me.
No halo, no excuse,
salt in the mouth of every word.
If I’m tied to what went wrong,
I’m tied to what must move.

We say we’re better than our worst—are we?
We talk like we’re the cure—are we?
If I can’t face the quiet truth in me,
what truth could I be to you?

Pull me from grey into color.
Say it back: into color.
When fear says stay, I answer: move.
Let small good tilt the room.
I won’t die in grey, I’m dying into color.

Old fear behind the eyes, steady as a wire.
We named it truth, still it hid the blade.
We named it love, tallied every debt.
Heat in the chest that will not loosen,
because our losses never got their names.
Give them names, set them down.

We call our noise a calling— is it?
We call control a rescue— is it?
If I can’t be plain with me,
how plain could I be with you?

Pull me from grey into color.
Say it back: into color.
When the room turns cold, I light what I can give.
When the road thins out, my feet still make a path.
I won’t die in grey, I’m dying into color.

I step outside, the air cuts clean.
I think of you; something opens,
almost breaks, then holds.
I want the good, the good that stays,
not buried under noise.
Leaves don’t vanish; they change,
dying into color all around.
If there’s a rule that keeps us whole,
let it lean a little toward mercy.

I watched good doors pass, eyes open, hands anchored.
Fear kept the shoulders nailed to the chair.
Not now.
I stand. I move.
I choose the door I have—this one,
then the next, and the next.
Love, keep me aimed.
