Ella Carrera and Valerie Tavares met in the spring of 2017 and without hesitation quickly established a musical partnership.You can regularly catch them playing at venues around the city. 

In just one year they’ve played at various Toronto venues including: The Opera House, Coda, Vertigo, Parlour, One Loft, and Toronto’s Electric Island. Alongside releasing mixes on labels: Toronto based, For The People, Secret Society, Promise, Way of Acting, and Montreal based label HUSA sounds.

This weekend guest is from United States who was inspired by the love to the electronic music at early age, Raul Pelaez born in Venezuela, he became a DJ in 2010 with the intention of expressing himself through the music. His mixes Influenced by Afro-Latin rhythms and Deep melodics vibes make his sounds differ from any other DJ. He has played in different venues between Miami and New York like the famous Trade nightclub located in South Beach, Miami and Output nightclub in New York. In 2017 he started his Podcast with the name of 305 Podcast now called On Key Podcast supported by Progressive Astronaut and available on Apple Podcast, Google Play and SoundCloud.

Slow Nomaden is the side project of Tobias Kroschel, the head behind Sound Nomaden (@soundnomaden) to express his passion for deeper sounds and influences from around the globe. In his DJ Sets and productions he takes the listener on an electronic journey through sounds of different cultures and spheres. Already his first EP „Jungle“ released on 3000Grad Records (@3000-grad) in late 2017 got huge support from within the global tastemaker scene including Nico Stojan (@nicostojan), Damian Lazarus (@damianlazarus), Riva Starr (@rivastarr), Igor Marijuan (@igormarijuan) just to name a few. In 2018 Slow Nomaden released his next EP called „Gondwana“ on his own label Nu Boheme (@nubohememusic) Recordings. Gondwana was received even better and has reached more than 500.000 plays on spotify to date and was playlisted by several international radio stations and DJ’s. His next EP’s called „Elephant Dream“ and „Vasudeva“ both entered the Beatport Top100 Releases in their Genre Afro House and Electronica/Downtempo. Meanwhile „Vasudeva“ has already more than 1.400.000 plays on spotify. In 2019 Slow Nomaden released his well received debut album „Journey“. Our next podcast comes from a classically trained Pianist, Producer, and one hell of a DJ. We are honored to host one of our favorite Miami artists and friend, Ella Romand.

Bio: "For the past decade, Ella Romand has been lighting up the scene in South Florida, enjoying residencies in clubs like Do Not Sit On The Furniture and Treehouse and playing at major festivals such as Ultra and III Points. Her background as a pianist leads her to perform live during her DJ sets, first with her electronic music group Dsided, then on her own solo live acts, where she takes the listener into a melodic journey with her keys and synths. Combining the rhythms of her home country Brazil with Deep and Melodic sounds, Ella has been consistently delivering outstanding sets wherever she performs.

Her passion for music started early on as she is a classically trained pianist. She went further with her career by pursuing a degree in Music Technology at Florida International University. The French-Brazilian is now based in Miami, where her moody melodies blended with ethnic sounds has allowed her to play alongside DJs like Lee Burridge, Bedouin, Satori, Behrouz, YokoO, Bob Moses, Eli & Fur, and many more. Ella was also invited to co-produce, compose and perform with the acclaimed New World Symphony, working with over 80 musicians for a one of a kind encounter of classic and electronic music.

Ella has performed in countries like Jamaica, France, Colombia, Mozambique, and Brazil; while in the U.S. she has performed at major festivals such as III Points and Ultra, as well as Soho Hotel (NYC), W Hotel (Atlanta), Serafina Hotel (Puerto Rico). In Miami, Ella has played and holds residencies at underground parties and top venues such as TreeHouse, Electric Pickle, Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Delano Hotel, Faena, No. 3 Social, Floyd, 1800 Lucky, Basement, and many others.

Her newest endeavor is her podcast series called "Ellaments", featuring new and upcoming artists and labels of Deep, Progressive, Afro, and Melodic House. Her most recent release was signed with Manual Music, and she also recently collaborated with the talented Italian producer Giorgia Angiuli on her new label United."
