SKRAP are a hard rock band based in Alta, Norway. This up and coming band take their inspiration from bands such as Black Sabbath, Fu Manchu and Queens Of The Stone Age. This is their first time recording at Gigant with a track entitled ‘Mean Machine”. Despite forming just a year ago the band have big plans for their future. They hope that eventually they get the opportunity to travel to Sweden in order to record a full album and play more gigs throughout Scandinavia.

FOUR MINUTES FROM FAME are a young band from Alta, Norway. Their music crosses a variety of genres from indie- pop to rock to country with influences of folk and funk. They have recently recorded at Gigant with a track entitled “When the war came”, but have been recording since 2012. The band members range from age 18-20, all originate from Alta, Norway and have been playing together for a year and a half. They are influenced by many bands such as, The Decemberists, The Beatles and Muse, with female vocals similar to that of Hayley Williams from Paramore.

Four Minutes From Fame - When the Ware Came

Ironbound are a Heavy/Thrash Metal Band from Alta, Norway, who formed in 2010. Their main music influences are that of Metalica, Slayer and Testiment and believe that their work is also comparible to that of their idols, Iron Maiden. Ironbound currently have two mastered songs, their most recent being 'Destruction'. They have moderate experience in live performance and have also competed in several competitions in Norway since their formation. 
Ironbound are aiming to write a compilation of new music as well as using their current songs to create and release an EP later this year. The band are passionate about their music and are striving to become more established in Norway.

SLYPIA is a 17 year old Rap/Rock - Rapcore artist who is from Russia and currently lives in Finnmark, Norway. He expressed a keen passion for music as a young child and developed on this interest by joinin a band with friends in his early teens
but has since been practicing as a solo artist for the past
4 years. Slypia has 7 songs mastered and this year is his first experience as part of Gigant where he has recorded his song ‘Part 2’ which is a very energetic track and on which he considers a milestone as a solo artist.
Slypia is considered to be comparable to artists such as Tech- n9ne and Yellawolf, who’s music has influenced his work and inspired him to create music which incorporates drums, guitars and rapping. Slypis is striving to become more established throughout Norway in the following year whilst also striving to creat a music video for ‘Part 2’ and hopes to study music in Alta.

Music Recording Workshop

Established in 2003 as a small music workshop with a hard disc recorder at Huset. Today, we have five or six studios with producers working together with over 100 musicians aged 13 to 25.

Each band will have 2-3 days in the studio with a producer and a technician, focusing on one song, including mixing and mastering.
Bands from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.

All bands and artists involved with the GIGANT Workshop get a chance to perform at the one-day youth festival, arranged by Huset.

Huset is a place for cultural activities in Alta. We offer a place for young dancers, musicians, theater people, media people and are also housing the youth counsil. In addition we have a cafe were you can just sit and enjoy a good sitting. Feel free to pop-in!
