This was originally a poem by my good friend Paul Russell written in 2005. He asked me to create a song out of it for him and this is the outcome. Kind thanks to my Mum (Kath Ford) for adding the backing vocals.


For me to guide, I must feel guided
For me to love, I must feel loved
For me to face what it is that I am hiding
I must realise that I’m better off alone

You have changed like all the people around you
The devil works your idle thumbs
You walk around like a tale of rags to riches
Is that the price that they paid for your soul

I placed my pride before my falling

I lost my will to endlessly keep fighting
