It’s finally here! After a couple of years of providing music to the world through mixtapes and parties, the time has come and it kind of feels like a circle is somewhat closing as our very first compilation is seeing the light of day. 

This selection features eight amazing artists whose music we admire - including some good friends, many Schleichcast Allstars and yours truly, two of our collective's members. We love how all tracks stand for themselves in their unique styles as they cover a strong variety of soundscapes, moods and subgenres, but come together like puzzle pieces representing the multi-faceted nature of downtempo. 

We thank all artists involved for your trust in this first-timer-project. It’s an absolute honor and we're super proud being able to release your beautiful music while we take our first baby steps towards this label thingy. <3

Recorded in a small village in Bulgaria, this mixtape carries the coziness of a fireplace after a winter walk in crisp, clear air - a feeling of belonging. It’s a journey through the beauty of playful minimalism with steady basslines and sharp hi-hats allowing delicate melodies and soft vocals to shine in contrast. Hypnotic patterns provide consistency and gentle shift become moments of wonder. 

Moving somewhere between dreamy-dubby house and all kinds of soul-feeding electronica, the mix feels both thoughtful and airy, yet always keeping the groove. With smooth and patient transitions, it subtly guides your thoughts, creating a space of comfort and introspection.

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Ich bin aaandscha – Designerin & DJ aus Berlin mit Kölner Wurzeln – und schwer verliebt in Musik.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Der Zugang kam über meinen Freundes- und Bekanntenkreis (nach wie vor ein sehr wichtiger Teil meiner Entwicklung, shout out an euch, ihr wisst wer ihr seid) und durch das viel selbst dazu tanzen. 2019 habe ich mir dann selbst einen Controller zum Geburtstag geschenkt und angefangen, Sets aufzunehmen. Damit habe ich mich bei einem Open Call für FLINTA-Newcomer-Artists im Beate Uwe beworben und hatte meinen ersten Gig dort zum Internationalen Frauentag 2020.

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert?
Ich habe das Set in einem kleinen Ort in Bulgarien aufgenommen, mit der Wärme des Kamins nach einem Spaziergang durch die Wintersonne und die kalte, klare Luft – inspiriert durch das Gefühl, sich woanders zuhause zu fühlen durch die Menschen um mich herum. Das Gleiche schafft Musik für mich: Ein Gefühl von Zuhause, egal, wo ich gerade bin.

>>Möchtest du auf etwas aufmerksam machen, das dich beschäftigt? (innerhalb der Szene)
Ich freue mich immer sehr, wenn DJs Tracklists ihrer Sets veröffentlichen und damit die Produzent:innen wertschätzen und supporten, die unsere kreative Arbeit mit Musik überhaupt erst möglich machen. Und ich weiß es immer sehr zu schätzen, wenn die Übergabe zwischen den Slots sensibel, respektvoll und wertschätzend passiert. Kleine Gesten machen hier einen großen Unterschied. 

>>Welche Ziele als Künstler:in willst du noch erreichen?
Ich möchte gerne irgendwann einen selbstproduzierten Track spielen und die Gelegenheit bekommen auf meinen Lieblings-Festivals zu spielen.

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an "langsamer" Musik?
Ich mag es, mir Zeit zu lassen, alles wahrzunehmen, was die Produzent:innen sich überlegt haben für die musikalische Reise, auf die sie mich mitnehmen. Und ich liebe sanfte transitions - die fallen mir persönlich leichter wenn ich mehr Zeit dafür habe.

Easy cheesy kommt diese bunte Mischung ins Ohrli geflattert und macht sich's da direkt ma so richtig gemütlich am vestibulocochlearis. 
Dort eingenistet schwingen die Wellen ganz gediegen weiter zum Nervus accessorius und plötzlich beginnt der Kopf zu nicken.
Lässig schwoft dann auch noch der Rest des Körpers im Takt mit. Is ja kein Wunder bei dem Sahnetörtchen an Musik.

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Ich bin Courtney und meine Wurzeln liegen in Österreich und in den USA.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Alles begann eines Abends, als ich durch meinen spontanen Einsatz an der Kassa eine neue Welt mit einer bunten Familie von Menschen kennenlernen durfte, in der ich bald begann kreativ mitzugestalten. Irgendwann packte mich die Neugierde, woraufhin ich einen Workshop besuchte, in dem ich das Spielen erstmal durch andere Frauen lernte. Seitdem bin ich auf der Quest, meinen kreativen Ausdruck darin zu finden.

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert?
Es ist für mich wie ein kleines Memento, um die Phase, in der ich mich befinde, festzuhalten.

>>Welcher Moment deines Künstler:innentums hat dich nachhaltig beeinflusst?
Als ich das erste Mal zusammen mit true nature (@truenaturemusic) in einer Jurte im Sitzen spielte, wusste ich, wie mir das Auflegen vor Menschen am besten gefällt - für mich war es eine magische, kuschelige und feinfühlige Atmosphäre.

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an "langsamer" Musik?
Auf mich wirkt sie anspruchsloser und gibt mir dadurch mehr Raum, mich selbst in der Erfahrung zu spüren.

>>Erzähle uns eine lustige Anekdote aus dem Nachtleben!
Das eine Mal, wo wir unabsichtlich zu einer Walking-Performance auf der Fusion wurden… es begann, als wir unseren roten Spaßkoffer mit lauter Schnickschnack aufräumten, woraufhin sich eine Dame neugierig erkundigte, was das denn sei, woraufhin das Rassel-Ei namens Eggdar aus dem Koffer geboren wurde, woraufhin wir auf jeder Bühne den Koffer neu er- und einrichteten, und die Interessenten informierten, es sei Eggdars 1. Geburtstag, woraufhin er Geschenke wie Shrimpi bekam, woraufhin wir die halbe Crowd bei Neuland dazu brachten, Happy Birthday zu singen und wir einen Schokoriegel mit einer Kerze in winzige Kuchenstücke schnitten und verteilten. Es war schön, wie sehr sich die Menschen verzaubern ließen und von selbst mitspielten. Magic.
