An original orchestral/chamber arrangement of an old Christian pop tune, using sampled instruments -- no loops / motifs / effects, just the instruments.

Done completely on the old Yamaha QY300 sequencer.

Street Spirit

The main electric guitar riff is inspired by the Brooks & Dunn song "Hard Workin' Man" (the "Country" part of the title), while much of the rest of it is influenced heavily by the likes of Spyro Gyra, The Rippingtons, et al. -- the "Fusion" (country + pop/jazz) part. Done completely with the old Yamaha QY300 sequencer.

Originally intended to be the theme for a business podcast. The brief was to fashion something along the lines of the Charlie Rose theme.

Tune In

As commenter synthman's remark "serious musical stamina" reflects, this was written with the overwhelming passion of youthful, romantic love, barely letting up its driving pace throughout.

Joylyn

Song idea/concept and lyrics (mostly forgotten, never recorded) by my friend Shaun McDonald (The Van). Music co-written by him and me.

I'm just now noticing here one of my mentioned musical influences. The bass line on one of the breakdowns seems like some memory of Goldrush from Yello's One Second album exerting its influence.

One of the few songs I did that attempts a complete change-of-pace detour about half way through. I think this detour was meant to be a total instrumental. I don't remember any verse lyrics, but definitely the chorus.

Music I did in college ('89-'94) on the Yamaha V50 -- contemporary of the Roland D50 and Korg M1. 

Newer stuff done on the Yamaha QY300 sequencer and their Motif. The few orchestral pieces done on each of the aforementioned instruments and a couple on Peter Siedlaczek´s Complete Classical Collection (later version of his Advanced Orchestra).

I like to think that a lot of my favorite artists influenced me, but most predominantly you might hear Spyro Gyra a, The Rippingtons, the Melrose Years of Tangerine Dream, maybe a touch of Art of Noise and Yello's One Second album. Also maybe some '80s new wave, Fleetwood Mac, The Miami Sound Machine, and yes even some Amy Grant (Straight Ahead and Unguarded) and Michael W. Smith (Big Picture). My "studio logo" queue is the closest thing to my orchestral hero John Williams.
