Hutty and Simple Gipsy (saxophone player) are back attacking the house - hop genre since releasing their hit song Body Low. Diggin in the Mud is inspired by past situations negatively affecting the way Hutty acts currently. Hutty has a problem with addiction and constantly sees references to getting intoxicated which worsens the problem. This can make Hutty feel alone in that he only retains judgement from his problem. Hutty’s girlfriend experiences this similarity, where she was sent to a therapeutic boarding school at around the age of 15. It was meant to help her handle emotional distress, but all it did was worsen these problems and she lived through traumatic events that should have never occurred. It’s important to be there for people in these situations and understand it. Your word could save these peoples lives and helping them make sense of something they never understood is important. They react poorly to advice and too many people judge and talk behind backs. This only makes the struggle worse for the person. Ego needs to be thrown aside. If you can see it, help them. “Diggin in the Mud” metaphorically represents a declining mental state and Hutty uses it to represent his inspiration of getting out of that mental state.

Following their hiatus, Saytr Play came back this January with singles, 'like a Ghost', 'Crowded Room' and 'Serotonin Serenade' amassing over 80k streams on Spotify, BBC Introducing support, playlisting on XS Manchester and national radio coverage on Radio X. Off the back of this success, Saytr Play sold out their hometown headline show at Manchester's Deaf Institute a month in advance. Saytr play release 'The Butterfly Stitches EP' on 23rd June.
