"La Musica No Se Muere" : forgotten Afro-Latin treasures from Guinea Conakry's Syliphone.

Guinea Conakry has a rich musical history, especially after the country’s independence in 1958 which allowed decades of beautiful music to flourish across the country.

The Syliphone record label has allowed many talented orchestras to record their music, constituting now an invaluable cultural heritage.

Guinean Music is fantastic and clearly unique : a blend of traditional, West-African and Afro-Cuban music. 

Beyond their typically deep, funky and groovy music, Guinean orchestras have also played Latin music, covering Cuban songs the Guinean way. 

The result is breathtaking....

Les batterie sont écrite a la souris dans un séquencer.
Le thème représente la magie de l'underground, La saturation analogique qui me passionne énormément.
La bleu saturé as été choisi pour accompagner les visuelle de L'EP.

Welcome to this very special Word Is Love show paying tribute to the late Andrew Weatherall and his remixes that he did for Factory Records on what would have been Tony Wilson's 70th birthday 20.02.20.

Featuring Andrew Weatherall remixed tracks by New Order, Primal Scream, Happy Monday's, The Grid, The Doves, James, K-Klass, The Future Sound Of London and The Orb plus a whole host of ace remixes.

A young Weatherall, just like many of us, was seduced by the sleazy and funky sounds coming out of Factory Records and the Hacienda during it's hey day. The mix showcases Andrew's Factory Records remixes and his remixed tracks popular at the Hacienda, plus a few very special Weatherall remixes thrown in and thrown down for good measure.

All tracks are selected and mixed by @thefunkassassin with an enormous amount of Love & deepest Respect.
