About 6 months ago, just before I set off on my 5 month tour of Europe I got a message from a good friend of mine asking me if I would edit a track that he loves. 
I said of course, and asked him what track. 
Turns out its a big favourite of mine also.
'Why Can't We Live Together' by Timmy Thomas is an amazing song with a strong message that is even more relevant today than it was back in 1972.
The message is clear, it's simple, it's beautiful.
I'm saddened by recent events around the world and I've always tried to spread love through music, because for me, music is love.

The man that represents the deeper side of Amsterdam house is back on Dirt Crew. His last outing on Detroit Swindle’s “Heist Recordings”, the “Le Troubadour EP” was another fine example of that laid back funky deep house only Nachtbraker can squeeze out.

Settling into the groove immediately is ‘Hump’, bouncing chords and a warbling Rhodes lead into an irresistible bass line. The title track, ‘Backstabber’ hits right in the hips, a chugging feel good work out for the dance floor. The flip remains true to the flavor of this whole EP, offering up a massive speaker rattling bottom end and funk flavored keys on ’Time Is Of The Essence’, while ’Monday Mourning’ steps up with expertly cut disco samples, an effervescent excursion with a jazzy lead and a touch of vocoder for good measure. The release is rounded out with digi only offering ‘Yaaa’, a sub driven deep house work out, boasting swelling loops and hypnotic percussion.

Nachtbraker’s sharp sense of harmony and knack for vibe is ever present throughout this whole release, he has truly fine tuned his sound to a perfect balance of unbounded energy and stylish musicianship. We are happy to welcome him back on Dirt Crew with this classy release.

When an artist truly lets their music speak for them, there is no need for words. With his discography packed tight for the last 3 years and almost no information online, this seemed to be the case for LD NERO. So when he dropped 4 original tracks at our doorstep, we knew we had to pay attention. ‘Let Your Body Speak’ is LD NERO’s EP debut on Get Physical, already appearing with his bombastic remix of Roland Leesker’s ‘My Warehouse’ alongside Chris Liebing, Cardopusher, M.A.N.D.Y. and DJ T..

LD NERO’s fresh and unique sound is abundant throughout the EP. First, the hyperactive ‘Friction Addiction’ gives us a good feel for what’s to come, keeping it light while still delivering the steam (the digital version includes a FBK remix, definitely check that out as well). ‘Gauge pressure’, on the other hand, feeds a drip of deep bass bathed in bubbly percussion. ‘Skip About’ is a stripped down, straight-to-the-point kind of track, achieving a very diverse track. And finally, the title track growls along as the vocals guide our attention (you’ll also find an instrumental version here). All in all, LD NERO has had no problem exploring new directions and serving up a brilliantly simple, effective, refreshingly unique sound. In fewer words, ‘Let Your Body Speak’ is bouncy, gritty tech-house to jump your late-night bones.

I vividly remember buying the Buffy Saint-Marie album Illuminations at a record store called Jerry's in Pittsburgh.  Jerry's was a regular stop on tour where we'd usually spend a day buying and looking at records.    When I found Illuminations I didn't know anything about the album or much about Buffy Sainte-Marie but I liked the artwork and thought it looked like an interesting album so I bought it.

It turned out to be a total gem.   Poppies was always a standout track on the album,  the vocal on Poppies is really beautiful and works seamlessly with the backing track.  I've been meaning to rework it for years.  Hope you enjoy. : )
