Work Flow

My friend Jess and I wrote a song together unintentionally about the sinful woman who broke her alabaster jar at Jesus' feet. We both were meditating on what it means to give all that we have and put it before Him and to truly worship God in humility and adoration. This was the result. We hope you are able to sit at Jesus' feet in wonder and awe of who He is.

I made this song on a Tuesday, the same day black squares flooded my instagram feed. I knew that it wasn't a normal day. I felt really stuck and frustrated, because as much as I felt for the plight of millions brothers and sisters everywhere, I just didn't know what to say or do.

I wrote this song thinking of Jesus who went through all that suffering (and so much more than a human can fathom). I asked questions. And with those thoughts I directed my honest sentiment to my hurting family out there: I really wish I knew what to say to make it better.

But I know well that there may be nothing. Besides, it's not what I say that matters, but what God says. And He says "cast your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7)

This is not our home just yet. :)

Random beat. 'Ma 間' means gap / space / pause. A japanese term for negative space. Often used in art and movies, the idea of negative space giving people time to breathe and engage with what's happening. The vocal sample in this kinda sounds like it's saying 'Ma' to my ears, and in this track I was experimenting a little bit with space and having quiet moments - so it felt like a fitting title.
