The speech was from Charlie Chaplin’s film called The Great Dictator in 1940. In this film Chaplin plays both a Jewish barber and the dictator Hynkel. I selected the final speech scene and cut it into the track. Humanity is the idea I want it to explore here.

#1 i'm sorry / the speech

In this track, I try to re-create a morning rush hour scene by only using sounds. It’s a daily life track from waking up to getting of the train. I collected sounds like bed sheet, brushing teeth, subway notification sound, running footsteps…then i put each elements in order. There are two parts in the track, the second half of it is a reverse version, all sounds have been speeded up and reversed.

#2 circles / at college stn

Didn't expect that I would make one thing for minority group at the first place, especially for a course project.  I could’ve made it more complicated, because it just sounds like people talking with background music.(it is lol) I came up with few ideas during production period, for example using sound effects to represent horrible situation …well all of the designs work weirdly or say I found out that to let people speak gives me the strongest emotional feelings. I’d like to make their voices be heard. I’d like to let others know what they’ve been through or they are still suffering now. I’d like to let people know that love is not a shame, they are all the bravest human beings in the world. Everyone deserves the same rights. They are all ordinary people.

#3 vulnerability / the one

I personally found it was thecutest one. Basically, it's a coffee making scene with a girl daydreaming to explore the outer universe. The process of the coffee making keeps the same speed with imagination. The idea here is that every little single sound in life would be a great inspiration, use your imagination conquer the reality? I feel like I want to give the audience a sense of there is fun in everywhere, even real life boring af sometimes
