For the 9th edition of Hybrid Identity mix series Din. tapped into coalescence of emotional state of summer heat and dreamy soundscapes with superb attention to details.

Before the voices of nightly silence weak and hijack routine statistics of the day, 
Oaths, shots, screams, and noises,
There and then.

The rays will wither.
 
Where the endless steppes and aimless winters meet on the horizon,
Landless and waterless poets wilt under the lines in which light streams from luminous bodies.

Taking place in private rooms, the prose of the forgotten plumes in a heat cycle,
Saying everything with a startling abruptness.

A canopy covering a portion of the wall.

It is a bliss to exist within day and night formation,
In the blind swarm of words and a peace of mind.
However, 
It is a distant dream.

Usnul is an up-and-coming DJ originally from Moscow, Russia, currently residing in Boston, MA. As an avid audiophile, he is constantly searching for perpetual melodies. usnul demonstrates his versatility as a selector and DJ with captivating soundscapes that run the whole gamut of experimental electronic dance music subtleties. 
The first version of this mix was first played in February 2023 during an AV show collaboration between usnul and rareform @rvrxfxrm showcased on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. This mix was recorded using both vinyl and digital formats.

Dreaming of happiness in the silence of a dawn. 
Upcoming day was promising disassociation
In the prose of routine.

This time the limerence was brief,
Yet bittersweet and desperate. 
The chimerical metamorphosis missed just a little.
You almost became a fragment of wire with dead butterflies on it.
The voice of hope was weak and subordinate,
But still, it whispered.
Pleasure and pain were only a breath apart.

Candles have been burned while the song faded.
And while feelings lingered in a morning fog 
A new day was rising over the horizon.

Brooklyn-based DJ threehz brings a deep and dreamy perspective to an often-aggressive techno landscape, with a focus on textured, spiraling, playful psychedelia to appeal to both mind and body.
This mix pulls from a pretty wide range of genres and influences and includes a number of their long time favorites alongside more contemporary selections.  Rather than the typical linear arc, they tried to have the energy of this mix flow in a more push/pull kind of way, and to arrive somewhere different than where we started.

Sighs are as deep as the breath of the ocean,
Low growl, almost undetectable if 
I am not paying attention.

Some words are vacant, hollow, unfilled, but
emptiness feels good 
on occasion.

The noise of your mental images
transformed into a string of words
is strangely tranquil
Fluctuations of the tempo of your voice are 
subtle
illusive. 
	Deceptive?

Keep telling me the story but at last
 	release me 
into the quiet whisper 
and embrace of silence.

Castles made with words unspoken 
Might not withstand the next tide 
But let it pile up,

For the 12th edition of our mix series mix, we take an integrated approach to the music and poem pairing: the featured poem, written by Hybrid Identity's curator - mayilovesummer, is recited by our guest dj Luwan at the introduction of the set. Luwan's selections waltz between warmth and steel, pulling from a wide range of genres and influences. Featuring long-time favorites alongside contemporary gems, this set takes a push-and-pull approach to energy, steering away from a typical linear arc. With a techno-forward vision and touches of electro, bass, and dub textures, Luwan crafts a journey that feels intimate yet electrifying—one that opens up and lands somewhere unexpected far from where it began. 

In search of sounds both warm and steely, Luwan is a Brooklyn-based dj who began their journey as a classical musician and fell in love with techno later in life. They began digging and collecting tracks as a writer and editor for Dirty Epic LA's music blog. Luwan is heavily influenced by dance and writing as art forms. Together with music, the three mediums work interdependently in mysterious ways to drive their artistic process.

mixed by Lychee - a thoughtful, bubbly raveworld fixture. A colorful and perpetually exploratory DJ and event organizer, they manifest underground energy with a magical, scintillating take on technoid psychedelia and relentless, meaningful inquiry. A voracious reader and writer, they ever-thoughtfully explore human experience and interconnectedness through words, soundwaves, and the expansive, wobbling pulse of the dancefloor.

In addition to regular appearances at Basement, Nowadays, and Bossa Nova Civic Club, Lychee is part of the Antidote and Meridian event collectives, and previously ran Spontaneous Affinity, a monthly mix and interview series and occasional event platform focused on how dancefloors have shaped artists.

Avail and praise layers of identity. Embrace and celebrate multi-identity as an essential part of human development. The term aims to unify, not to separate various aspects of identity.

We are a queer-run and centered boutique collective based in New York. Navigating multiple spaces allows us to be hybrid, paying close attention to gender balance in electronic music industry where females, non-binary, and trans people are still widely underrepresented. 

Leaning on electro, bass , experimental, and polyrhythmic techno, we center our activity to a particular sonic experience for reflection, letting people go inwards to notice subtler frequencies, and creating a breathing room for a much needed transformation.
