The Phat Controlla returns for the third consecutive year and makes his debut appearance on the BSS format with his Speed Garage and Bassline roots firmly inspiring his latest addition to the 1Forty discography 'You're Mine'.

The Phat Controlla is another unearthed gem of the Kiwi Records label who started producing in 2017. Having kept a relatively low profile only sending out finished works to a very select few, The Prince Of UKG - Conducta soon picked him up for the the Kiwi shows keeping its promise of highlighting the NUKG talent, firstly at Kiwi Hush (Keep Hush) followed by three legs of the BK2SKL Tour in Autumn 2019.

Since then he has gone on to appear on Rinse FM on numerous occasions, including alongside the Kiwi camp for the Kiwi Records: Christmas Special as well as releases across Mangoes + Melons and Strictly House & Garage. Alongside Conducta’s heavy handed support he has amassed support from the likes of DJ Q, Sammy Virji, Sharda, and the icing on the cake.. his main inspiration and UKG icon Todd ‘The God’ Edwards.

The Phat Controlla made a splash on the label for the first time in 2020 with his take on ‘Ignited Flows’ from BBC Three’s UK Rap Game Champion - Graft. Exactly a year on we welcomed him onto the FNG series last summer for his first official release with a four-to-the-floor speed garage warper channeling his inner northern roots for ‘IMSONORF’.

Hybrid Theory are a DJ and Production duo from the cultural hub of the midlands, Birmingham. They have been blazing the UK Bass scene in style since they started now infamous Four40 imprint in 2010.

These guys have taken the UKBass scene by storm with their duty ghost warps, snappy saw’s and the heavy broken beat patten is the winning combination for these guys.

For the Hybrid boys appearances on Diplo's Mad Decent and Norman Cook's Southern Fried Records followed cementing their foothold in the scene as tastemakers in high demand. The guys were most notable so far seeing the release of their much anticipated EP on Champion's genre-bending Formula Records. In 2015 brand new releases will drop first on Jakwob's Boomting Recordings, These guys have a foothold in the music seen now collaborating with some of the top artists in the world. The collaboration with Stanton Warriors had a huge effect on the American breaks music scene, witch lead the guy’s to a 5 state American tour from LA to New York. Not to mention traveling across Europe, to destinations like Germany, Sweeden, Amsterdam, Belguim, Italy, plus many more.

If this kind of output wasn't enough Hybrid have been working tirelessly on preparations for a host of Guest-mixes for BBC Radio 1 and 1xtra following enthusiastic support on the BBC, RINSE FM and KISS, from the likes of Monki, DJ Target, MistaJam, Sian Anderson, Annie Nightingale, TODDLA-T and more (Not to mention other scene heavyweights like DIPLO, ETON MESSY, DJ EZ and ONEMAN)
