Really enjoyed this one  from the very start you set a mood that pulled me in: the airy pads floating over that skittering percussion gave the intro a sense of open space, and by the time the beat landed you had me locked in.  I especially loved the moment around ~1:45 where the groove subtly shifts--that little filter sweep then the bass dropping in gives the track a fresh lift without losing the core vibe. The layering of textures (those shimmering high-end hits  the low-end warmth it  shows real production care.

Solid electronic work, strong build and rhythm. I create visuals and Canvas loops for techno tracks if you’re ever exploring that.

Following a slew of compilations, albums and singles using a multitude of aliases, Allergy Season boss Physical Therapy comes home for his first solo EP under the name in 4 years. Drawing on distant memories of youtube rips and unidentifiable white labels, “Teardrops On My Garage” provides a signature collection of romantic cuts. Chunky, swinging drums and Edwardian vocal chops are stitched to create an EP of poppy and bittersweet house.

For the second edition of our podcast, please welcome Toronto-based DJ and producer Xela!

Over the past year, Xela has become a voice you’ve definitely heard about. A co-founder of KONDUKTOR and true selector known for his versatility that can bless any floor, from an art show to sweaty warehouse closings. Totally unpredictable but always on point, his sets blend distorted basslines and sharp snares with an obvious grungy, rap influence.

𝘒𝘕𝘋𝘒𝘛𝘙: DJing or producing, what came first? 
𝘟𝘌𝘓𝘈: Producing came before DJing. I’ve been making beats on FL studio since 2017. I’ve always been fascinated by music production since I was a kid but I decided to try it for myself one night when I was bored on a family trip.

𝘒𝘕𝘋𝘒𝘛𝘙: What have shaped you as an artist?
𝘟𝘌𝘓𝘈:  I’d say that I have many influences as an artist. My mom would always have the classic rock radio stations playing in the house when I was a kid and that def influenced the heavier sound that I’m drawn to in dance music. Rap music also carries a large influence in my style and is one of the main reasons why I’m so interested in electro as a genre.

𝘒𝘕𝘋𝘒𝘛𝘙: What are your thoughts on the current state of the scene in Toronto?
𝘟𝘌𝘓𝘈:  Toronto nightlife scene is in a weird but good place right now. Techno music/culture is exploding in popularity again and the city needs to meet those demands. With many great venues shutting down in the recent years due to city bylaws, it makes it harder for independent organizers to find affordable spaces. On the other hand, with the massive rise in popularity, the Toronto underground scene is exponentially growing which is exposing many new talented artists to the scene.

𝘒𝘕𝘋𝘒𝘛𝘙: Any important person/collective more people should be aware about?
𝘟𝘌𝘓𝘈:  Favourite artists - Rafael Khan, Hycastle, Jose Carbonell, Ninechecker, AADJA. Some of my favourite local collectives - Format, Chemical Rave, Frequencies, If You Fancy, Takeover6ix, Chroma.

𝘒𝘕𝘋𝘒𝘛𝘙: Any goals for 2026?
𝘟𝘌𝘓𝘈:  Next year I’m working towards some amazing international booking for Konduktor (new and returning faces). I would really like to start playing more shows outside of Toronto and if I’m lucky enough, outside of the country. I’m also slowly working towards releasing some original music and focusing on performing live with my machines more than traditional DJing.
