Welcome to the first episode of Bordello Aperitivo: the new mix series curated by our aperitivo bar in Amsterdam! Gautier Honorez aka Monodominical is a French DJ and vinyl digger. Since 2019 he's the owner of the small bar/club called 'Le Discobar' in Paris where you can find him every night behind the bar serving nice cocktails and good music. He defines his own music style as 'Mediterranean Disco' switching between languages and decades but with the same desire of being in a perpetual summer holiday mood enjoying drinks close to the sea. Monodominical is also a producer who creates edits of disco rarities and original production under some obscure aliases (find one on 7" in our shop right now!). Salute!

About one year after our Vol. 2, clubs and dancing bars were closed again in France. This sad news made us decide to launch again our Edits series, slightly renaming it “Paradise edits”. Fortunately, the good contacts we made through the last year helped us pulling together this new compilation quite fast. First, we had the Brooklyn duo Fundido, part of Earth Beat crew, with whom we had been chatting for quite a while and talked many times about having an edit from then. Then, we asked Sputnik, a DJ from Moscow to join, as we were enchanted by his work for That’s A Steal and his release on Gop Tun records earlier this year. A few days later, Nicolas Kotowicz, another Russian artist, contacted us to share his edit and we thought he would be a perfect addition to the comp. Finally, Latane introduced us to Lloyd with a bunch of edits and we were very keen to include him too.
Here’s the result of their works and a few questions we asked them about their stories and their approach to edits.

Today, we proudly unveil the continuation of our "Make Dream House Great Again" movement with our second Volume. Nestled close to Italo Disco, Dream House emerged as a sub-genre within House and Trance music in the latter half of the 90s in Europe, championed by labels like Dance Floor Corporation (DFC) and ZYX Records.

We've collaborated with emerging talents from across the globe to curate a diverse array of sub-sub-genres. Lone Saxon captures the authentic essence of 90's Dream House with this intricate jam, Alex Aguayo presents a breezy club anthem perfect for a "closing your eyes on the dancefloor session".

The young MLF debuts with a high-energy house track featuring plenty of M1 stabs, COHN offers a deeper twist, Yotam brings a breaky junglistic take, Romain FX delivers classic dreamy piano riffs and a touch of gated vocals reminiscent of the rave era, My Boy Roy from Mexico contributes lush, long-flying chords and a deep groove, and last but not least, the Japanese duo Kross Section concludes the compilation with an analog-tape-sounding, break-infused gem.

Another impromptu home session with no real plan, I think this one turned out nice though. All OG vinyls getting a full rinse, vocal and dub with a few dubplates sprinkled in along the way . Pure rub-a-dub vibes.  Enjoy!

Classy rework of a balearic house tune.
They first found this track a couple of years ago at a time when they were listening to a lot of Russian music and started working on an edit of it around that time, but it didn’t really go anywhere. This summer they decided to have another go at it, keeping the pop / catchy atmosphere of the tune and emphasizing the disco (even proto-house), in particular the piano solo part.
