deskulling - Heat Dome Doom

E B U (@e_b_u) is the solo music project of Bristol based artist Ella Paine. Her debut album 'Hinge' released on NoCorner in 2019 received critical acclaim; "A bold amalgam of avant-garde electronics, droning ambient and ultra-leftfield r'n'b" (Bleep). E B U's dynamic live show has also garnered high praise, "Disorientating, dissonant, but wonderfully compelling" as reported by Wire. With a strong repertoire of gigs under her belt, sharing the stage with the likes of Wolf Eyes, Moor Mother, Tami T, Oli XL and playing events such as BBC 6 Music Festival and London's Cafe Oto, her unique sound comfortably traverses genres and settings. E B U has hosted radio shows on Noods and 1020 with tracks being played out on NTS, Balamii and BBC 6 Music. A Boiler Room documentary called 'Keep Bristol Weird' focussed on key acts defining Bristol's current music scene, which featured E B U alongside Hodge, Giant Swan, Young Echo and many more. With other releases on Howling Owl and a recent collaboration with Mun Sing on Illegal Data, Paine is currently writing new material, which sees her music incorporate a more software driven contemporary club sound.

CITYTRONIX @citytronix is an electronica-experimental based musician, programmer and visual artist based in an industrial town in the United Kingdom. CITYTRONIX first conceived music creation at her earliest years, primarily arranging pieces of soundbites and MIDI riffs on numerous PlayStation platform releases. Her sonic imprint is a form of truest expression which reflects upon her timelines in life, predominantly capturing sound souvenirs in which have moulded her identity in both states of crisis and with reassurance - encompassing pop music culture, documentaries, sound objects, low fidelity YouTube videos, environments and more.

“This mix is a little more spritely than usual, it was really enjoyable to create and stitch it together. Some of the materials you may find are references to earlier works that I released and there are other sounds that I also tend to recycle throughout. I'm also unleashing new music of mine that has never really had the opportunity to shine or be heard, alongside new edits and cuts scattered sporadically, so this feels like the perfect moment to showcase something whilst I've been on hiatus for months.”
